I have been watching this and this is just getting a little bit silly here. I think I can summarize this as follows;
1. This is not a Robbo v Barnett fight.
2. Shoreline booked Sennybridge for the TCUK event - This was then advised that the MOD needed the site so could not be used for the TCUK event.
3. Shoreline have moved the event to another site on the same weekend and seem to be using all the same vendors as before that would have been booked for Sennybridge.
4. Some people have the Hump as they want to play Senny and not Holmbush
5. Shoreline have refused refunds of Tickets.
This I think in essence is it.
I have played both Senny last year and Holmbush the previous year for the last 2 TCUK events. I enjoyed both of these for different reasons, but both were good events and appeared to be reasonable organised.
I think the only real issue here is that people had not been offered the facility for refunds given the change of location. Whilst I can sympathise with these people and I would be quite miffed if the event changed and had lost money - This does not appear to be through the fault of Shoreline. If when the event location was changed and people received refunds then I reckon that the tickets could have been resold via shoreline or if you put these up on UKS then again they will probably be sold.
I love paintball and I love this community that we have on this site, I dont generally use any other site, but please can we stop this as a P8ntballer/Robbo v's the world issue. Sure there have been cases like this and maybe there will be again but lets not drag persons into a battle when its not there battle.
P8ntballer does not need this as its not our issue or problem.
My twopenneth,
You're right to an extent. There is also the (not unreasonable) request for proof of insurance etc which was not met. The organisers are able to say it's in the small print about the possible change of venue which means they also knew it was a possibility so why did they not have a backup or contingency plan?
Why not simply offer a refund and resell the tickets? Shouldn't be a problem if they originally sold out in minutes.
Has the reason for Sennybridge access not being granted been clarified? Are people assuming the military need it for training or was the event simply refused for other reasons?
It's not a P8ntballer thing, a
baller feels he has been wronged. No different to bad feedback for a retailer who hasn't delivered being made public.
There is no other location which will offer the same experience as Sennybridge to my knowledge, I can understand why Simon would expect a refund.
If you booked a performance car track driving day only to arrive and be told the only Ferrari had been crashed the day before, completely possible and out of anyone's control, BUT BUT BUT the Ford Focus ST was being put on the track for you I imagine you'd be asking a few questions.
Edited to change car from focus to focus ST. Still reasonably good, still a fast ish car but not a Ferrari.....
