regardless of my views on this (even though my earlier comment was sarcastic), I believe any parties involved should now do this in privacy until any court action, if any, is taken and this thread be locked as it is spiralling out of control......people should now be refraining to comment to save arguments and not say/do things they would later regret, this is or should be a private matter and should have been in the first place.

Desponge, you make no sense, Simon had tried to sort this matter privately and look where it got him - he got to fuhk off and there was no chance of him getting a refund.
The internet, forums in particular, are a place where problems can be aired without recourse to litigation. Simon was merely attempting to see how widespread the problem had become. What you endorse plays right into the hands of a gutless creep like barnett because he is able to thrive on people's reluctance to go legal. If it weren't for forums like ours, people like barnett would be hoovering up people's hard-earned dosh without the fear of being held accountable when sh!t hits the fan.
If individuals such as the whistle-blower who went public with the MP's expenses scandal, those MP's would still be defrauding the coffers as we speak.
The only reason for anybody wishing to put a lid on this and go private is because you want to cover something up.
Thanls to Simon, over 40 people have now responded to his on-line request who would have otherwise done nothing on their own.
This needs to be rolled out in public, end of!

Furby, i'm not so sure your advocacy of going straight to the lawyers to resolve anything is laughable when you consider just how insane your legal system has become. In every single case that i know of in the US of this type litigation results in the lawyers winning. They butt-rape everyone on the road to a bigger bank balance.

I haven't read through the entirety of this thread as yet, but to offer some clarity on the clear paint, in most cases at Military venues the command doesn't want their facilities painted bright colors following a paintball game. The Camp Blanding MOUT facility in Florida specified grey paint in their contracts to producers, to avoid having their facilities turned bright pink or orange. The one time this was allowed, the place got turned international orange, and since then there have been no more games at Blanding due to "Increased Training and Operational Tempos". Coincidence, maybe.

Regarding Simon's allegations, I'll only say that it's my opinion that people with massively strong legal cases don't normally take their grievances to public forums to drum up public support and/or exposure for their case. They simply hand it over to the lawyers and let them do their work.

But I'm a Yank, so perhaps things are different in the UK.

Hi Furby - no-one has an issue with the use of clear paint at Sennybridge, everyone has known that was a requirement prior to the first TCUK there in 2012. The only area of debate is the continued use of clear paint given the relocation of TCUK to the woodland site at Holmbush - not an ideal situation for the players, but understandable given that neither the promoter or the paint manufacturer want to take a financial hit and be left with tonnes of unwanted clear paint.

As many have said on this and other forums the new site is amazing. I have alot of tickets for sale yet no one seems to want them. Also if it sold out as quick as advertised then people should be fighting over themselves to
Get tickets. Maybe the new site isn't as good as advertised

Sure Robbo, because if something is on the internet, it's got to be true, right? Come on now, Simon certainly has a right to air his grievances publicly or privately, I won't argue that. However, 'discussions' on public forums like this one or even FB have a tendency to spiral out of control and go off on wild tangents. By my standards, this one has been one of the more controlled, polite ones but most of the people here contributing to the discussion are English, not a pack of pubescent Americans.

Aside from my opinion regarding inferred, imprending legal action, which I stand by, the whistleblowers either here or out in the real world like Snowden and the scandals you've mentioned need to be prepared for the backlash their actions will have, which if they're right is a non-issue. However, if they're simply embarking on an Internet Protector of the Truth campaign due to hurt feelings or a sense of moral outrage, they'd better have their facts straight because if they don't, they open themselves up to legal action.

As much sh!t has been talked about me in the past year or so, I suppose I could have a case of sorts with those who've taken disagreements to a personal attack level, but there's a reason most Internet Protectors of The Truth trolls don't get sued themselves for their actions...they don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of!

Agreed, sir. The paint used at Blanding was universally garbage, mainly because the paint was usually under a week old and hadn't properly cured.

Holmbush is a brilliant woodland site and I have no doubt that the event sold out as quickly as advertised, however you're trying to resell tickets for an event that's less than two weeks away and that a large proportion of the scenario community are already attending, thus have a small potential customer base. In addition, even prior to the change of venue, people who were unable to attend were selling tickets for significantly less than the face value.

I do believe that the promoter should have offered either full or partial (as you're still getting an event, just not at the headline venue) refunds.

Generally people think that we (the mods) are taking sides or a dislike to individuals when all we are really doing is pouncing on the irrelevant posts/posters and keeping the conversation on track.

You are dead right, the threads do tend to go off topic, if it's light hearted we've usually got no problem with it but in more serious instances such as this we will tend to monitor things more closely.
