Generally people think that we (the mods) are taking sides or a dislike to individuals when all we are really doing is pouncing on the irrelevant posts/posters and keeping the conversation on track.

You are dead right, the threads do tend to go off topic, if it's light hearted we've usually got no problem with it but in more serious instances such as this we will tend to monitor things more closely.
It's a relative term, sir. While you may consider this out of control or off on a tangent, this is civilized compared to what I'm used to seeing.

Furthermore, I'm not insinuating that there is any bias for or against Barnett here, mainly because I don't think it's relevant. Just wanted to make that clear to everyone involved. Also, there is no business relationship whatsoever between me and Shoreline, just to get that little detail out of the way. Like Simon, I'm merely expressing my opinion.

As many have said on this and other forums the new site is amazing. I have alot of tickets for sale yet no one seems to want them. Also if it sold out as quick as advertised then people should be fighting over themselves to
Get tickets. Maybe the new site isn't as good as advertised
Hi Simon, I'm sure the above was mentioned in a slightly humorous / sarcastic way to get a point across, but any chance of refraining from knocking Holmbush Paintball here please ?

We may not be a large scale Urban site, but then other than MOD sites... I don't think there are any in the UK? Certainly none large enough to accomodate 400 odd paintballers at a drop of a hat, willing to close their site down during the busiest time of year to help out Walk-on Paintballers.

For the record anyone or any company could have called us to host something at short notice and we would do our best to oblige the community. It's always nice to have an event in the South once in awhile.

The problem I have here is a simple trust issue, if this was a few months ago and it was warped big game, and they moved to say Npf, nobody would question it. The fact shoreline has a history of customer based problems always makes you think the worst.
I initially thought that maybe this is genuine for a change and they should be commended on a good job, but if he's refusing a simple proof request you have to ask why? I find it strange that a company would knowingly organise an event that has a high chance of cancellation with no backup plan set. And that makes me think, maybe they would have just simply cancelled if Simon cole hadn't stood firm on the paint issue? I could just be being cynical but that's what happens after all the previous problems.

If you are lucky you will get a full refund without a court case, when I badgered Barnett/shoreline about the paint issue at last years tcuk I was banned and given a full refund :)

I think insurance documents would be sufficient proof that the event was intended to take place. Wonder how many months they will take to be produced. While it is entirely at his discretion to reveal documents of this nature and he is well within his rights to refuse, I can't see why anybody would. Knowing that this is going full scale debate, if I was him I'd just send the email with a sarcastic comment and put all the negativity to rest.

I think, though may be wrong, Simon is saying that Holmbush, although an excellent site, is not a similar venue to the MOD site, where as npf and warped are similar.... That's how it reads to me

i itiched not to comment...... but here is my 2 pence...

We all love paintball... we all love compaines that put events on... especially ones that really try and push the boundries to give people not just a paintball event... but an experience....

so if your argument is with the event ticket price due to location change, arent most events within the same price range these days anyway regardles of venue location quality... give or take 10 quid...

if your argument is with the event venue change... well it does state...(and tbh its common sense) its a MOD site so things could unexpectedly get cancelled or rescehdualled

If your argument is with the paint quality.... i shot clear at copehill, and was one of the best paintballs ive shot.....

If your argument is you HAVE to shoot clear.... Yes ok shoreline faced a huge problem and maybe they prob have got a stack load of clear paint they have to shift.......but common..... why dont you support an UK paintball event organiser that in a circumstace if you didnt have to shoot that clear paint would take a huge financial hit on a company that has provided amazing events for people..... i for one would prefere to shoot coloured paintballs, but im happy to support shoreline or any other paintball company that would be in this unfortionate situation that couldnt be helped.....

i get your pissed of man.. things have changed and you dont have a choice about it...
why dont you just support paintball in the UK.......s**t happens and yes it sucks, compaines are not gods...and cant always get it right 24/7, but in my opinion, threads like this is enuf to put anybody off from trying to promote paintball in the UK by putting on an event... especially new event organisors like myself.. makes you think people are fine to play at people events and smile....but also waiting to stab you in the back at the slightest hiccup....

do yourself a favour man.... if you like paintball... promote it.. dont break it!

I agree with this so much. From what I've seen, paintball isn't in the best light as it is. Don't make it worse...

Hello All

I have been in paintball since the mid 80s seen it all done most I run a site and like to make sure the industry gets as many grass roots players as possible.

I am not a mate of Tims or Andy Sables or Pete although I have met them all I just think this can be solved as far as the venue is concerned.

I have no vested interest in this argument at all and no axe to grind, I do have some good connections through friends in the armed forces ex and still serving, to this end I made one phone call after hearing about this thread to find out if Sennybridge was due to stage a Paintball event.

Fact is anyone can call Sennybridge they have a listed number under defence estates and you can ask about the use of defence property they wont tell you about any excercises but will answer genuine questions as a rule.

I called a mate serving Army he made a quick call and spoke to the Commandant at Sennybridge who confirmed that Shoreline had booked the site for the said weekend in question and he also said that due to last minute training need being scheduled the base was no longer able to be used. He also said that the MOD gave Shoreline good notice that it would have to move to another date,he did not say how much notice just good notice.

So its fair to say that the event was booked and as to the rest refunds etc thats a different subject, dont bombard me with questions as I dont have specific answers just what I have said here.
