I don't see how someone who works at Just Paintball can accuse Shoreline of ripping people off.
Erm, Sam Lofthouse-Hill I think you've got confused - no-one at Just has accused anyone of anything. I think you might want to apologise for that comment. This isn't a fight between different companies, nor is it a disagreement between Robbo and Shoreline (despite people seemingly keen to make it so), or a competition between the various UK paintball forums - this is purely between Simon Cort (and anyone else unhappy with the change of TCUK venue) and Tim/Shoreline.

Excuse me Sam can you please just remind me WHEN we accused Shoreline of anything???????
I dont think we did so DO NOT drag us into this!
Apologies Rob, I was getting you mixed up with Robbo which when he said earlier in the thread this is Robbo vs Barnett I thought he meant you so my bad I didn't fully realise, the picture and the name linked to you so that is my fault.

Dusty Simon Cort on Facebook specifically asked if people want to contribute or add their side they should comment on this thread, so yes he did ask as whole to comment. And I did spend time reading the whole thread which consisted of a lot of people getting annoyed which I don't blame them and a couple of people standing up for Shoreline/Barnett. But if you are upset with Shoreline when you buy a ticket make sure you keep in mind that the venue can change so you have to look at the worst possiblity rather than what most people have done and just focused it on it being held at Sennybridge.

So show me where Simon complained about the MOD as you said?
Simon bought a ticket for Sennybridge, not holmsbush which I'm sure is very good.

Sennybridge was the selling point, Sennybridge is now not available and the organisers should have had a clear contingency plan in place which everyone was aware of or offered the refund. Plenty of people are still happy to attend the event no matter the location.

I have been watching this and this is just getting a little bit silly here. I think I can summarize this as follows;

1. This is not a Robbo v Barnett fight.
2. Shoreline booked Sennybridge for the TCUK event - This was then advised that the MOD needed the site so could not be used for the TCUK event.
3. Shoreline have moved the event to another site on the same weekend and seem to be using all the same vendors as before that would have been booked for Sennybridge.
4. Some people have the Hump as they want to play Senny and not Holmbush
5. Shoreline have refused refunds of Tickets.

This I think in essence is it.

I have played both Senny last year and Holmbush the previous year for the last 2 TCUK events. I enjoyed both of these for different reasons, but both were good events and appeared to be reasonable organised.

I think the only real issue here is that people had not been offered the facility for refunds given the change of location. Whilst I can sympathise with these people and I would be quite miffed if the event changed and had lost money - This does not appear to be through the fault of Shoreline. If when the event location was changed and people received refunds then I reckon that the tickets could have been resold via shoreline or if you put these up on UKS then again they will probably be sold.

I love paintball and I love this community that we have on this site, I dont generally use any other site, but please can we stop this as a P8ntballer/Robbo v's the world issue. Sure there have been cases like this and maybe there will be again but lets not drag persons into a battle when its not there battle.

P8ntballer does not need this as its not our issue or problem.

From the way i see it - IF the event sold out as fast as it did in the first place then why doesnt he refund the tickets to any unhappy parties and then re-sell the tickets ? Surely he is causing himself grief for no reason what so ever.....I would be just as pi$$ed as simon is but wouldnt have started a thread like this so fair play to you sir !

Scott, the position you adopted is one of the main reasons he's got away with things for so long. People don't wanna put their heads above the parapet and the same can be also said by some of our industry people.
Simon isn't the sorta guy to shove around and threats made by barnett toward him would have been like water off a duck's back. barnett knows why I'm gunning for him and it's a subject he really doesn't want to confront on the boards so publicly, but ironically, it was this location that spawned the circumstances that underwrite and ultimately explain why I'm doing what I'm doing.

My twopenneth,

You're right to an extent. There is also the (not unreasonable) request for proof of insurance etc which was not met. The organisers are able to say it's in the small print about the possible change of venue which means they also knew it was a possibility so why did they not have a backup or contingency plan?

Why not simply offer a refund and resell the tickets? Shouldn't be a problem if they originally sold out in minutes.
Has the reason for Sennybridge access not being granted been clarified? Are people assuming the military need it for training or was the event simply refused for other reasons?

It's not a P8ntballer thing, a baller feels he has been wronged. No different to bad feedback for a retailer who hasn't delivered being made public.

There is no other location which will offer the same experience as Sennybridge to my knowledge, I can understand why Simon would expect a refund.

If you booked a performance car track driving day only to arrive and be told the only Ferrari had been crashed the day before, completely possible and out of anyone's control, BUT BUT BUT the Ford Focus ST was being put on the track for you I imagine you'd be asking a few questions.

Edited to change car from focus to focus ST. Still reasonably good, still a fast ish car but not a Ferrari.....

Phil, i understand and partially agree with some of what you said but here's the deal. any thread, any post where barnett is being mentioned is gonna set my alarm off and I'm gonna be gunning for him, of course this is indulgent on my part but if you knew the real reason why i take everything so personally re barnett, you'd understand why i do it.
I will make sure i don't use this thread to continue my personal battle and if i do happen to post in this thread it will be on the basis of relevance to what Simon initially posted.
Sorry Simon, i didn't intend to hi-jack your thread here.
Points noted Phil !

I haven't read through the entirety of this thread as yet, but to offer some clarity on the clear paint, in most cases at Military venues the command doesn't want their facilities painted bright colors following a paintball game. The Camp Blanding MOUT facility in Florida specified grey paint in their contracts to producers, to avoid having their facilities turned bright pink or orange. The one time this was allowed, the place got turned international orange, and since then there have been no more games at Blanding due to "Increased Training and Operational Tempos". Coincidence, maybe.

Regarding Simon's allegations, I'll only say that it's my opinion that people with massively strong legal cases don't normally take their grievances to public forums to drum up public support and/or exposure for their case. They simply hand it over to the lawyers and let them do their work.

But I'm a Yank, so perhaps things are different in the UK.
