Pre-booking is now closed.
You can still play at this event.
Just turn up and 'pay on the day'.
We currently have 312 players booked in.
We have another 31 players who have not yet booked in but have made arrangements with us to 'play on the day'. So that'll take us over 340 players.
We're expecting somewhere in the region of another 30+ walk-on players on the day so the final numbers will be somewhere between 360 and 400 players taking to the field.
Thank you all for your unprecedented support for this new game. No other game in UK paintball history has had this level of support and this number of players in it's first year. We'll be looking to build on that in future years.
The current breakdown of factions is:
IMB - 127 players = 40.7%
GSS - 185 players = 59.3%
IMB Elite - 31 players = 9.9%
MI6 - 42 players = 13.5%
CIA - 41 players = 13.1%
MOSSAD - 13 players = 4.1%
GSS Elite - 20 players = 6.5%
Escobar Cartel - 49 players = 15.7%
Triads - 50 players = 16%
Russian Mafia - 66 players = 21.1%
Obviously the sides are lopsided at the moment, however we have a mechanism to ensure that things will be even. When you all take to the field, there will be 10% or less difference in the sides - so no excuses!!!
MOSSAD are clearly the smallest faction, we're not sure if this has been a deliberate tactic on the part of the IMB. Having a smaller faction means they'll be able to slip around the field and pop up anywhere undetected. Could make for some interesting passages of play. If it is a deliberate tactic, it's an interesting one and not without it's risks.
Foreign players have booked in for both the IMB and the GSS, but more can be found playing for the GSS.
Everything is ready for the game, the fields have been prep'd. New pathways have been cut between the zones to link them up. Additional staging, tables and loo's are all in place and more beer has been ordered for the on-site bar!
All the game details are in the public domain and a recent meeting between myself and the two Generals (Al and Tony) covered all the last tiny details. Both Generals are working away behind the scenes formulating plans and strategies.
Most of the faction leaders have organised meetings on the Saturday for their faction so that they can pass down their plans and organise their squads.
The pyro, photographers, marshalling team, caterers, traders, DJ, security team, registration girls are all set and ready to go.
A quick call to the local hotels yesterday revealed that many of them are fully booked for the weekend and there are literally dozens of players (around 40) flying into Gatwick airport on the Saturday from all over the world.
The photography teams are in place ready to capture all the action and the various journo's are also ready to go to work.
Less than a week to go guys. Anyone else getting goosebumps?
