Reason why i think we dont is
Well if your doing your job right, the most the opposing team will be seeing of you is your mask, gat and hopper :p
and changing those, just doesnt seem worth it

Amsterdam? I'm sure Rocky Cagnoni had to wear lead-lined boots there one year. Probably the same year the netting and towers nearly left the event...
Indeed good sir.

Cusack, I know your pain bro. The same event, as Matski pointed out, included amazing toppling towers. Back then, they didn't use poles, they used massive towers, which would not decapitate, but rather crush you into a paste, which would probably go well with some crackers.

So what's the compromise? Is their standard paintball wear which isnt camo, but not bright tourney wear? Where do we go if we not mil-sim fanatics or dedicated tourney players but just want to 'look the part'?
You can get camo coloured tourny wear (as seen in that link I gave earlier :) )

time c: obviously you know, nothing of playing sup'air, and from that post... absolutely diddly squat about how the brain and eyes work/percieve things/objects/movement

and luke: no never mate, must have been my mistake... been in a dream world for the length of time ive known you/of you ;) :p what was that, youre actually a carrot!?

Fish, actually he is sorta right about how the brain works because the brain is wired up to recognize and focus on change.
In fact, so much so, that if you clamp the eyes (so there is absolutely no movement) the image going to make up the visual field will eventually disappear.
The eyes actually oscillate so as to ensure a changing visual field thus ensuring you actually see something all the time you have your eyes open.
Bight colours, as he suggests are picked up more readily but not just because they are at that specific wavelength, it is because they are generally deviations from the norm ('bright' is a relative description) which once again places this recognition property of the brain within the realm of what's just been explained.

As for cammo in Sup 'Air?
We'd all end up looking like Battenburg cakes and I think an integral and important part of the tourney scene is image and so this is what drives the style of clothing we wear as well as the normal practical considerations..but being camouflaged ain't one of them I'm afraid.

In Sup'Air, we use suppressive fire, timing and speed to camouflage our presence (our movement) on the field and that's the way it should be in our sport.

yes, that is how you percieve images, but how you process them is an entirely different matter.

what ids bright to you, is not necessesarily bright to me; your reality/mountain top is a total different one to everyone elses.

i know this because that is what my mum does for a living, she practices in nlp (neuro linguistic programming), teaches it to people, and also does group work on team building... etc and is the second largest company in the uk, and also travels the world doing this; so i think i have some grounds to support my claims :)

hence why science stays away from the brain, because everyone percieves, deal with, and recollects data/information in different ways. there are very few, even braod outlines for how it works at doing these things; since to every man/woman/child/antelope it is individual... there is no one true way to get inside someones head and understand it, since to do that you would need a deeper understanding of your own brain in order to relate to it.

such generalisations of being able to 'blend' into an environment are absurd in theory.

though, maybe someone needs to try dressing as a bunker in this instance and we'll see how well they fare

Fish, no disrespect intended here mate but I don't think you know what you are talking about.
Science doesn't stay away from the brain at all.
There is an unbelievable amount of neurophysioligcal / neuropsychological research going on, I can't understand why you would even suggest there isn't.
And you are really getting confused with subjectivity and objectivity, and science disentangles this very problem because of their continued research.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing Fish, it can sometimes make us look a bit silly if we wield terms and opinions that are ill informed.
Im afraid just because your mum, or whoever teaches whatever is NOT grounds for you to offer up any sort of informed opinion on this subject as you have suggested.
