Jeez.
Now, where's my suit.
U better not let me down with that suit thingy !!!!
Anway point taken about reservations but I dont think the points u made are the whole story and you are not (unfortunately) part of the Millennium board.
We have to completely revamp the whole structure if this is gonna work and it has to include siginifcant investment from the promoters for it to have any chance of getting off the ground, it's as easy and as simple as that.

lmao :) funniest thing I've read all day.

It's a shame but maybe Europe is not ready for X-ball yet in the way that the states is.

X-ball was made probably with the states in mind. I remember there was another attempt at something similar in the UK years ago, didn't Ledz have something to do with it?

Maybe we need to have a Euro version? But then I'm still not even sure that will work given the current climate here.

I like the way the European series of Millennium events has developed. And done so without feeling the need to copy the US. Heck I believe the European events lead the way! Do we need to change our own development? Maybe at some point there will be the TV interest over and the time will be right for X-ball?

Until then how about we continue to develop what is easily argued as the best conventional Tournament series in the World :D Maybe that will bring in the TV and outside sponsorship required to jump to X-ball type formats?

**** now I'm worried this has gone off topic and will be deleted ;)

One thing I do intend though is to get a group of people together and play at a supair practice as if it is X-ball... just cos I want to try it out :)

Actually, I can see a few ways X-Ball will cost more to play. You've been working on the assumption that 1 X-Ball game uses around the same amount of paint as a normal tourney day
Same as a tournament in total - even if not, similar on a per-game-minute basis. Pros went through 2.5 cases per player at IAO, college teams did about 1.5 at World Cup. That's 60 and 40 minute games respectively. It seems pretty obvious that paint usage in a 5-man game in an X Ball match wouldn't be much different than paint usage in a 5-man game in a tournament.

& that travel & entry will be the same whatever format you play.
Yes.

But entry is likely to be an awful lot more for the smaller scale tournaments.
No... because:

I'll go on the assumption that the site has 4 fields available. Cost of using the site was split between 40 teams, now split between 8. Cost of marshalls was split between 10 teams per field, now split between 2
You don't have 4 fields for 8 teams. You have one field for 8 or 10 teams, with games at 8, 10, 12, 2, and if needed, 4. Still 10 teams per field. If you do 20 teams over 2 days, that further cuts your per-team facilities costs, and cuts reffing costs a bit as well.

and from what I've seen, X-Ball probably needs more marshalls per field. There are various other costs covered by the tourney fee that are sure to be more per team as well.
More than 5-man, yes, more than 10-man, no. About on par with 7-man.

Travel and paint are pretty much the same, entry is pretty much the same.

The only big differences in cost is the scoreboard system. The IAO/World Cup one was a lot, you can do something smaller for under $5k though that will work just as well game-play-wise, if not specatator-wise.

Hrm... if I had to take a guess....

It's because you let posts on a web forum piss you off?

Might want to work on that. ;)
