I wish they could stop using the word 'kill', 'die' and such. Please use MARKED. I thought we did not want to be related with guns and other weponary and still pro players sit in the commentary towers using words like kill?! OK in america perhaps, but in Sweden hell no man! That **** sounded sooooo bad.

I also agree on what red_markin and Henke is sayng. Enough with the "cool attitude" stuff. Maybe it works in the states, but it definatly didnt go home with the crowd in sweden, at least not where I was sitting.

I did like their voices, how ever stupid that sounds, they made it sound good most of the times. It was mostly before matches or in between when they were chatting that was kinda bad some times. But in-games they hade a nice flow and it sounded very proffesionall!

I say keep it up - I guess these guys aren't trained proffesionall speakers and so from that point of view they are doing a good job!

Music! I would personally listen more to music between matches. The music is a good element for killing waiting time, and there was alot of waiting some matches! Most of us watching kinda saw what went wrong so we don't really need a 2minute lesson on what went down.

(Based on Sweden commentary only)

I mean, has anybody contacted any of the X-Ball prospective teams to see what their intentions are?

Seems to me, you better address that little problem first before you start going on about who does and says what !!
I think that's what I'm doing here, Pete. I'm asking the teams and everybody. Lookin' for feedback.

Steve, u think Sergei reads this board ?
Surely, if us Euros are trying to do things right now, shouldn't we be making more serious presentations to those who might be involved, I mean, posting a thread up on some forum ain't exactly a serious canvassing of prospective teams.
We all know what teams are eligible and who can maybe afford it, and Steve, we also know, that each of the promoters has been given a free franchise deal, surely this narrows the field down even more ?

You guys should be getting in contact with those teams on a more direct basis than a public forum.

Just my opinion.

'Cept the whole point of the commentating is about the audience--what works on and for the crowd. Got nothing to do really with the competing teams.
Otherwise I think Nick has the right idea. Best thing the talkin' heads can do is offer some insight into the hows and whys of what's happening on field. As has been said already, the repetitive "kewl" talk is amazingly lame--IMHO. If the guys (whoever they might be) focused on player identification, creating rivalries and explaining what's happening as opposed to stating the obvious I think it would be a positive addition. And, has also been said, music during the breaks could be used to not only help pass the time but keep up the excitment level.

'Some forum'!!!???!!!

That's tantamount to treason Robinson.

But yes, who IS going to potentially be playing EXL next year, if indeed anyone is?

Once again, thanks for the career advice Robbo.

Just curious how you would know anything about how many e-mails or phone calls I've made? I can let you know that I've sent enough e-mails to learn that they seem basically ignored.

If you need any more respect thrown your way: I get far more feedback, good ideas, discussions and response here than anywhere else.

But you're confusing me: are you saying that to post things here and open up discussions about possible future policy here is unserious and makes for a poor presentation of Millennium or X Ball? Does anyone else out there think so? Wow!

And all important announcements, questions, rule amendments, scheduling, blasé, blasé, are sent out by e-mail.

My e-mail contact with Team Russia is with Alexandr Tarando. Don't know if Sergei reads them or not.

Am I missing something here or what ?

You are more concerned about commentary content than about getting the teams who are actually going to participate organised????

Ure kiddin me right?

Nick,

Quote Steve Morris from first post in this thread :-

For Campaign Cup and for next season: How much should the commentators say about moves and positions without being unfair and makin' things look bad?

As per usual, Pete, your laser like focus, is homed in on the critical issues of the Big Picture---but--
That ain't what this thread is about. It was initiated to discuss how the commentary might ought'a fit in to the whole at Campaign and beyond.
So, in conclusion, quit thread-jacking, ya olde grouch.:p :D

Shh, he's on the phone to Sergei, don't distract him...I think it's important.

Oooh, bloody hell, I never knew that!

****, no way...

Jesus wept!

I love earwigging, and I'd love to share, but I'd have to kill you all and since there's more of you than me and you're pretty much all bigger than me, I'd best keep my mouth shut.
