How about this for a factor in the whole definition about 'world' and all that jazz......

I think that one important factor in a certain event being 'world' or whatever is that the world is intrested and has the oportunity to see it. They are making all these claims about it being this big event on TV but what's the chances that anyone outside the US will actually get to see it? Very bloody slim...

PS. Anywhere that I can download episodes? The DVDs for sale arent actually from this latest event i don't think.

The show is on WGN, which is distributed un-encrypted via satallite, and is one of the most-pirated television stations in the western hemisphere. Lots of people in South America, for example, "get" the channel.

But even if its onlyin the US, that's still a lot more of the world seeing it than if its not televised at all.

Just to be clear, I'm not defending WPL's legitimate claim to the title World as being valid in any manner other than typical American arrogance. Maybe Milt aspires to be a world league and has just gotten ahead of himself with the naming.

BUT, I don't think there's much distinction between WPL and 7-man World Cup.

That's just my opinion. Of course it's the right opinion, but I don't expect lesser mortals to always understand that.

:)
Aaron, I swear this advice is honest advice and is completely sincere....wave the white flag mate or alternatively, just don't try to justify any more, you are embarrassing yourself and it's getting kinda demeaning.

"Brockdorfian"

I just looked it up - and a widely recognised online dictionary said "see Stupendous".

It further went on to say the phrase was coined by the good people at p8ntballer.com - thanks guys

Only thing that kinda annoys me, is that you missed an f in the spelling - I guess I have to go change my name now.

I'm thinking of starting the WBF - World Brockdorfian Federation - anyone interested in signing up for membership?

- Mind you - you can ONLY become a member, if you are truly a Brockdorfian.... irrespective of how few countries play host to such aweinspiring creatures...

:p

I can certainly see how this definition applies to at least one side of the Brockdorff family but I'm having a little trouble when it comes to appreciating its derivation when having anything to do with you ... still Freddie can once again take up the slack for her sibling rival :)

ok pete how about putting it this way when pgi first started what would have happend if it did sell in other countries could it be called international i dont know the WPL was presented to alot of "world" teams and no one but us (the dumb ass yanks and a few canucks) believed in it milt even sat down with you personaly presented you the information about the tv deal and everything

ok on another note the show will be televised on an international market it is on a 90 delay for air in other countries and the show is shot and edited in hd so it will also be shown on hd networks

and to finish this off there will be 8 new spots open next year so how bout you step up quit belittleing and turn this league into a "WORLD" league or are you just satisfied with sitting across the pond and complaining that us yanks are *******s

p.s. i dont consider my self a scholar so dont try to tear apart my statements and anilyze the stuff that isnt grammaticly wrong or even the spelling for that matter you know what im saying and thats the point not whether its the proper queens english

Call the leaque whatever you fu.... like, but don't argue that WPL is a desribing name for the leaque, thats the whole point!

It doesn't matter that you asked teams from the whole world to participate, the fact is they are not participating, or that next year it will be teams from the whole world, it is not now...........................
