WORLD CUP news! Avalanche caught cheating!

Are you Hollywood in disguise?

"it is inconceivable that others on the team did not know. If there's anyone out here who believes that "sniper" acted on his own, without the knowledge of at least some of his teammates, I have some swampland down in the Everglades I'd like to sell them."

Looks like the Tiger-striped-DJ wearing doyen of cool agrees with ya Tigre...Mr Big and Robo should have some more news soon so stay tooned.

If he wanted to hurt Avalanche, or individal players, then he would have attacked THEM, and not taken the time to plan a paintball related thing. Again, it all seems to convinent that all this evidence on how unstable Salm is come out now. If he was really that much a liability, then why keep him for so long?

Tigre have u heard of short term and long term?
Hitting them in the face is short term damage.
But what he did was tard their reputation as a great team and they have lost as you have so graciously ranted against is their innocence of the situation and being a true team and this is the long term affect, and he goddam well knows it.

Your like the media, going in without knowing it first hand and then get things screwed up.

Tyger do you work as a conspiracy theorist on the weekends? (just asking cause your posts sound a lot like some of the conspiracy theories ive heard .) Now most of the valid points to this little argument have been covered already so i wont repeat them . We can assume most of avalanche didnt know about the sniping it is however entirely possible that one or two of his teammates did . However , why would he do this to help avalanche ? GZ are a good team but avalanche likely would have beaten them badly regardless . So imho this event is just to screwed up to make any sense . the big question is why? its just so ridiculous and stupid . (now im wondering if what i just wrote makes any sense oh well ill post it anyways ):D

And me. Maybe.
Just to clear things up on Pete's behalf he believes Ed didn't know what was goin' on--beyond that he's keepin' his views to himself for now. (And shame on me for interpreting Pete's comments as more inclusive than he intended. Bad cow.)

Best I can say is I've heard from a few folks including some pro players and none of 'em think Salm acted alone. Bottom line though is appropriate penalties were handed out and the incident is over and while it makes for entertaining speculation only whoever was involved--if there were others--know the whole truth.

maybe he wanted to be caught cheating,if he new he was unliked and therefore likely to be dropped from the team ,what better way than to get back at the team, than by ruining there reputation

To reinforce the point of why to shoot GZ players rather than Avalanche players, if that had been the case then the scandal would have rested solely on Salm and no additional penalties and dishonor would have been dealt. You shoot your own teammates out as "cheating" and they lose = no harm, no foul as far as everyone else is concerned. Of course you COULD introduce the idea that someone other than Salm might have wanted this to happen from the outside, e.g. another team or conflicting interest with Warped, which would upgrade Salm from lunatic to hitman with added convenience of self contained fallguy...but I don't think so. You couldn't offer a payout big enough to be worthwhile or concealable: that would have too many fingerprints on it.

So far, I stand on my view that it was a simple revenge or spite or vandalism (of entity) act.
