Whether wiping classes as cheating or not is simple - the rules state that you must not wipe hits, therefore it's cheating if you do. Definition of cheating - acting contrary to the rules.

how do u think ramping came into play then. people wer arguing that they needed to fire faster to get more balls off to stop runs being made and to get enuf balls into the perspective player so they dont wipe. so all u people that like ramping, i must say that wiping has a part to play in it.

from all these views being put forward, i dnt know what i think now

Its cheating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its the MAIN set in stone (not many of these) rule of the sport Your hit your out.

and those of you that think your cool for wiping/playing on, how about improving so you dont get shot????????????????????????

And if you do it a lot the team is deemed a bunch of cheats, and everybody wants to be known as cheats dont they? or do they??

Not flaming, just my Point of view...
I have judged all types of events including many Pro Millenium finals and I have always been of the view that the Marshals are there to help the FLOW of the game. It would be best if we never had to get in and do anything and the game could play itself. I dont think anyone can honestly say that it's the reponsibilty of the judge to remove the player??!! If we go down that lane, then wow, what's going to happen next? If the player is bigger and more aggressive than the unarmed judge and he doesnt want to leave, is it the Marshals fault for not being able to beat him off the field? Do we honestly want to play against a team that wont leave the field until they are dragged off? How frustrating!

People often moan when judges have to get involved in game decisions (who was hit first, were they playing on etc etc) but at the end of the day the Marshal is not commiting an offence by making the wrong decision, they player is by cheating.

The real top players are easy to judge. They're so good they don't get hit, and if they do they are often graceful enough to admit it and leave with their dignity.

Judges are there to JUDGE and help enforce the rules. If it's "all about the game" then it's a different game we're talking about because in paintball you are out once you're hit. It would be like using your hands in football. It's cheating and if everyone can do it then it becomes a different game. (Not sure what, and don't say rugby!)

Not really. Teams know other teams wipe. They get caught, usually there'll be some banter and a joke next time they play.

You said as a sound team, I take it you mean a team who doesnt wipe? Well maybe theyre just not getting caught!

Marcus Neilsen has his rep because hes blatant as you can get. Yes its cheating, we know that, thats why we do it because rules are there to be broken and its more of a challenge or a risk.
You think rugby players dont know it illegal to stamp on someone or blatantly go offside, no but they do it so often you'd think thats the case. They just have a mind to win and at all costs, if that means cheating for the team to win millions, so be it.

Cheating is part of the game, always will be no matter what. You just have to learn to adapt
(my views n all that etc)
