I don't think the "other" Pro's are making threats of an exodus, just out of sour grapes.
I think they just feel like they're out in cold.
Everyone seems to agree that there has to be a limit on the number of EXL teams, but those that don't get a spot aren't being offered much at all, as an incentive to play the MS this year.
They're being given very little info on how the rankings for promotion will work, and they are being slotted into the 4 events where there is no X-ball.
Forget the teams, and look at it from the MS point of view.
As a series they want to keep as many players in as possible, and obviously they can't implement X-ball across the whole tournament, until it's been tried, and the players accept it, but I think trying to keep both 7 man & X-Ball running for the Pro divisions is giving out the wrong message. If they are going to do the EXL, then they should make both Pro divisions X-Ball, which would satify most of the "other" Pro teams, and would give it a better chance of success.
From a business point of view, it would also make more sense to have the EXL at the 4 lower profile events, to give them a boost, because Toulouse and Campaign pull in the teams already, but I doubt that will happen.

Well if you so are soo damn sure all these teams are gonna shift their asses Stateside, name them.
why do i have to name any teams there are plenty of threads already stating the teams that are thinking of taking their dollar overseas!

i am just expressing my personal opinion of what i think would be best for ALL this coming season! hell we are nearly half way through Jan and the only teams that know what they are doing are the EXL 8!

and Pete you keep harping on about having the best 8 in the EXL so as not to dilute or devalue the league, so surely a Div 1 XBall (feeder) league would only strengthen that prospect, cos if there are clearly struggling teams within the 8 and obvious promotion teams then the league will be strengthened, and thus increase in value!

dont sweat im only passing my thoughts not trying to start a war!;)

Gaff, no war wanted here either and just to make myself clear, I have never said it was a bad idea to have Div 1 XBall, in fact , it's a great idea and if the MS decided to go that way, you wouldn't see any bitching from me.
I fear the problem may well be one of practicalities in arranging any more than a pro XBall.
But, the point of my dig at you was this, there will be no mass exodus to the PSP, it just will not happen.
If teams had any stateside inclinations, and of course the necessary resources, then we would have witnessed a few more teams than Nexus, Ton Tons, Joy and Russian Legion making the trips over last year.

I am merely saying you are scaremongering in an attempt to bolster your postion and the situation that you are predicting is never going to happen.

Peace !

I am willing to bet that you will still participate though duder...

There is one thing in actually voicing dissatisfaction with what has been finalised, but quite another to actually decide not to play the events that are on the doorstep of many players. I doubt that any of the teams will actually play events in the USA rather than MS events next year. There were only 5 Euro pro teams that actually played an event in the US last season, whats to say that that will change.

I predict that many of the teams that are complaining/.voicing concerns on here will still play the 4 MS events that they can play pro at if that is the level that they see themselves being able to compete at.

As i said before, there will be no mass exodus from the MS to the NPPL/PSP, its just scaremongering by a few to encourage other teams to do it

having just re-read my last few posts i can see how you think i am merely scaremongering, (not my intention just bad writing!) but let me assure you that unless the MS give us a reason to stay (i.e qualification opportunities for EXL 2005) we will be travelling over the pond)

we would much rather focus our game, money and time in Europe but if we do not have a format and series worth playing in then we shall not play for the sake of playing.

and with reference to last year, we did not participate in the states last year but have/had every intention of doing it this year, just as it stands at the moment we will be over there for all of our season.

i just hope the MS dump the PL and go with Div1 XBall and give us a reason to stay in Europe, but as you said it probably aint gonna happen!

peace

wrong mate, we have the support of new and old sponsors to allow us to travel to the states this season, all season and will do so if necessary. we have stated that we will only play the MS if there is a route to the top for 2005, if they stick with the PL but allow access to the top via that then we will probably play it! if they say the an end of season tourney will determine the promotion/relegation of the EXL teams then we will probably play some MS and some US XBall, but if they categorically state that there will be no defined route into EXL 2005 from any format in the MS then we will play elsewhere, quite simple!

The first line of my post was directed at Buddha not you.:)

Why am i wrong? I dont think that anyone can label my thoughts as wrong untill this time next year when we see how many of the teams actually do forsake the MS to go over to the States.

We will have to wait and see.:)

And congratulaions on your election as spokesperson for all the other MS teams:p
