i think these should go PRO:

Malera
Rushers
conselium dei
ton ton acyd
overdose
taz
Evil pigs
Thank you for having faith in us, but the team started in 2000, and most of the players to, so we need some more experience!

Anyway, our goal this year was to make it to the semi-finals 2 times.
We made it 3 times and in 2 of those we also made it to the finals: 4. in Toulose and 4. in Campaign

We`re slowly learning to walk, and hopefully sometime we`ll also be able to run.

(There is also a money issue here - PB is expensive!!
Sponsor`s are welcome):D

Seems a little silly though, that the top Pro's can win kit which they
a: don't need, and
b: can't use because they're sponsored by someone else.
Its not just prizes though. Its money....and a lot of it.

The entry was lowered last year from £600 ( I think ) to £400 ( I think , last year ). Some of the money you pay does go to the overall prise fund , and no , Novice dont get prises. But think about it this way , 80 or so novice teams can pay £600 each and have a very small chance of winning anything back , or 80 just won £200 each , and no free t-shirts , or planet bags. I know which I'd prefer. And the lower entry encourages more novice teams to enter.

Entry fees...

Another point to add and that is that the Novice entry was dropped because most of the Novice teams that enter are local to that event. i.e they are only playing it because its being held on there doorstep. There are very few Novice teams that can afford to play the whole series and those that do benefit from the lower entrance. Novice teams do win prizes at these events (some were even left behind at Campaign Cup!!!!) but they do not win cash money. This is also to encourage teams that don't belong in that division to move up if they want any financial rewards for winning or placing in the top 3.

As for more divisons, I think that it is the only way forward. The way to stop people playing in Novice for the rest of their playing career is to only allow a team to enter as Novice once. If they want to play the whole series then they are bumped up to Am B. That way only true Novice teams will be battling out at each event. If there is a team of ringers playing then they will only get away with it for one event.

Phew, hope I have made some sense...

A problem with that is that quite a few novice teams drastically change their roster from year to year simply due to players dropping out of the team because of cash, time, etc. So you'd get the situation where you'd have true novice players in teams now graded Am B.

Off topic?

Yeh maybe a little, but how can you suggest which teams should move if we don't know where they should move to?!?

mmmmm.... I see your point but in reality Am B Teams will be at the level of the Novice division at the moment. It should contain the top Novice teams and the not so good Am teams. Am A though should contain the top Am teams. Therefore you should be o.k playing in Am B. Anyway there are loads of teams playing Am that should be playing one level below but won't because they will be classed as Novice even if they have been playing for ages. This way they can move down, still please the sponsers and enjoy their paintball alot more...

Jeff matey

Escarmouche took 2nd Novice Campaign Cup this year and as far as I knew we got diddly squat, I mean, I have no individual trophy to give my boy when he is older ;) and nothing shiney.

Is it true there were prizes for 2nd place at Campaign in Novice bracket, please tell me won something a T shirt, bar of chocolate, pint of beer anything to make the £600 I spent worth while :)

Sid, I am hurt.

You guys left without your prizes, Speak to your Captain before slagging us off next time

As for the individual trophies, well after picking 20 ...Yes 20 from the indoor track last year after the presentation I thought I wont bother again, So you get one massive trophy.

The stuff went off this week to the Emerald Isle so you know who to ask.
