After Mr Cook$ has divided the world by zero to get the third dimension, I would multiply it by i^n and use the forth dimension (believed to be time) to go back to see how the cake was placed there and solve the puzzle that way,

That was quite funny...

Personally, the whole, walk left thing did occur to me, but I propose that the room, is in fact circular, as is the lava pit and we are simply seeing the cross section view of the room.

Therefore, despite the hideous amount of available spunk that I have, I would save my sight, walk around the obstacle and eat my cake, salt free.
