Manike, please...my logic is faultless, Nick's use of caps and telling people what to do was brash and rude. Period.
You seem to misunderstand the difference between a discussion and a statement. 'Can so and so ring me' is not the basis for a discussion. 'Thanks to Dave for saturday' is not the basis for a discussion.
As for giving attitude in discussions, sure, no problem - I'm talking about Nick and P'd off giving attitude to moderators who are doing their job. Read Nick's post again - he's demanding the mods replace threads or do his job for him - like it's OUR fault he can't get in touch with someone...where the **** does someone get off doing that? Pure arrogance.
I've used this analogy before, so stop me if you've heard this, but these forums are like a bar. You may not agree with the choice of music on the jukebox, or the fact that the no-smoking area is miles from the bar, or that we don't have Bud on draft..fine. I understand that.
BUT understand that it's OUR bar. Everyone is welcome to drink here provided they follow a few not-very-draconian rules..if you don't like it, hell, choose another bar.
As for the 'customers telling us what they want'. line...bull****. Over the time this board has been running, of the now 2,700 or so members we have, do you know how many people we've had head-clashes with? Less than 15.
That's what, below o.5%?
This ain't about mod power, or us being *******s. As you so rightly point out, this is a business venture, and tha company running it has a vision and a business plan...do you not think it's a tad arrogant to suggest you know better than them? Cos that's what certain people seem to do...
Call me meek, but I wouldn't tell Bud Orr how to make a gun, or a bar manager how to run his pub, or a shoemaker how to build shoes...
