Was thinking the same thing. Then he wonders why the postman just throws his stuff on the porch, would you want to approach somebody with a hobby involving shooting people who's having surgical equipment and scalpels delivered to his house? Just to add something on-topic to this post, I don't know about the Royal Mail, but here in the US, the Post Office sucks big time. Most expensive shipping, takes more time, and you've got a 50% chance of having anything less sturdy than a stone broken beyond repair by the time it arrives. I use FedEx almost exclusively. Anything I send Postal Service I insure for 150% of it's value at least. That's for packages though, the regular mail isn't too bad (letters, cards, anything that fits in an envelope).
Er...... I'm a biology teacher
Also, unless he opened it, how in the hell would he know what was in it?

As for the "immigrant relief postman" that's just a cheap cop out used by a huge number of British industries. It's not a workers fault if they are hired for a job they can't/aren't qualified to do.

Just had a team mate lose £150 in the mail......... it was registered, returned to sender as the recipient wasn't in. When it got back....... the postman just handed it over to someone at the same block of flats..... no I.D. check (even though it's a registered letter).

Recorded = insurance to cost of 10x1st class stamp = ****.
You need parcel post (Roll a couple of dice to determine day of arrival) or Special Delivery next day (We want you to use this or we'll take your parcel to the secret stomping room) for proper usable insurance.

I always use Special delivery, it aint that expensive, averaging about £10 for a marker and you can track it online.

Worst experience was sending two Sterling STP's to NZ. Six months! And they "lost" them....made a complaint, got told i'd never paid enough for the insurance so it wasn't insured...argued that i'd paid over the odds for the insured delivery so I was pretty damn sure they were feckin' insured..all of a sudden they turn up in NZ and the post office refund my "overpayment" for the insurance end of it......

It's a conspiracy I tell ya, they're nicking paintball gear in preparation for that day when they do a more civilised English version of their US counterparts' inevitable breakdown :p

Hate it when they quite blatantly can get it through your letterbox or just knock but instead they choose to leave a stupid slip sayin you have to pick it up because it was "too big" or "no one was in". There was 2 bloody cars in the drive way of couse im bloody in!

I never have a problem to be honest..my postie is great, I mean, any package is always waiting for me, next to my Mrs side of the bed, when I get home from 12 hours at work...great service...infact, I said that to the Mrs, and even she said that the Postman always gives her a great service...

My Milkman saved the mrs life once...I was popping home, as I was in the area and there in the kitchen was my Milkman, standing behind my Mrs, who was bent over the kitchen side...when I walked in, they both looked flustered, apparently he was dropping off the milk, when he saw her choking in the kitchen amd he was giving her the Heimlich manouvre...I'm so lucky to have such caring people around my neighbourhood...
