My regular postie is pretty good, though I dread when he goes away on holiday or anything.

It's parcel delivery people that really wind me up (not Royal Mail, the private ones). I've made quite good friends with some people who live on the other side of the estate I'm on recently as they have the same house number and their road starts with the same letter. Therefore I'm constantly getting packages for Strickland Drive despite living in Stapleton Road. A classic example was the other week when I got in to find 2 packages for these people dumped in my porch, with no number of the delivery company to call them & tell the of their mistake & no phone number from the senders. These people's telephone number is unlisted as well so I ended up putting a note through their door with my number on it so they could collect their stuff. But I've been just about to sign for parcels many times in the past when I've noticed that it wasn't actually addressed to me & had to tell the driver where the road he really wanted is!

When iot comes to stuff that I'm waiting for myself, they NEVER leave it in the porch but just put a note through the door saying it's at the depot 30 miles away (or worse, 10 miles closer into London like Charlton:eek: ) but they will try to deliver it at the same time on the next working day - fat lot of use that is to most people, as if you're at work at 10.30am on Tuesday chances are you'll be there on Wednesday at 10.30am as well

Personally, I hope the Post Office never gets any better. Who will I be able to blame 'cheque is in the post' or 'well I posted it last week' on?

Luckily, I can have things delivered to work - so there is someone there between 08:30 and 17:00 to sign for them. But I agree with Liz's last bit - if you're not in at 10:30 on a Monday - chances are you won't be there any other weekday at that time. Maybe we should make them do Sunday deliveries.

That arrived ripped open! No button for lil Dem :(
Well yeah there was that one too I can only apoligise mate, what a joke that was. I actually wrote "button" on the envelope as I thought someone might have a fondle and explore at RM. So even writting that didn't put them off, rip it open and nick it, why don't you mr postie! I'm sure you really need a impulse power button.

But no, this was two rare impulse OTB trigger frames from the states, all insured just a right old pain to sort out.

Is it just me - or does anybody else wonder why JD has surgical dental equipment delivered to his door?

...that's why I'm scared ;)...

Was thinking the same thing. Then he wonders why the postman just throws his stuff on the porch, would you want to approach somebody with a hobby involving shooting people who's having surgical equipment and scalpels delivered to his house? Just to add something on-topic to this post, I don't know about the Royal Mail, but here in the US, the Post Office sucks big time. Most expensive shipping, takes more time, and you've got a 50% chance of having anything less sturdy than a stone broken beyond repair by the time it arrives. I use FedEx almost exclusively. Anything I send Postal Service I insure for 150% of it's value at least. That's for packages though, the regular mail isn't too bad (letters, cards, anything that fits in an envelope).
