My views on the world cup are as follows.

1. toilets I guess there were not enough but It wasnt a problem for me.

2. reffing was bad real bad Im not sure what the screw up was but man not enough and poor quality.

3. bleachers or lack there of was what it was.

let me say this I use every vacation day from work that I have a year in order to play at the Pro level and I dont get paid. My point is that I play for pride and the respect of my peers. Would I like to play on grass yes, would I like to play on TV sure, if there were grand stands would more of the players stay around to watch the games sure.

I would play on dirt and rocks without a soul watching me play if that is were the best teams in the world were playing. To play under great conditions is great to have bathrooms is cool to but for me personaly that isnt why I play the game. Maybe its cause im old but that is just the way that I feel.

If given a choice I would love to play all of the best teams in the world on grass and infront of people with allot of cash on the line but I dont see that happening anytime soon.

peace

I never said Chuck's NPPL site had any dates on it. I was just saying that his site is up-to-date (he said tourney dates would come latest mid-December) and the PSP "NPPL" site is way out-of-date and did not (or does not) have a program as claimed.

Rich, as I see it, you been f##ked before so many times by these bad tournaments, you have almost come to expect it.
In your last paragraph where you state your doubts regarding playing on grass, in front of people and so on, happening soon.
Why the hell not mate?
We do it over here on half the income you guys get from your tourneys.
It's now your right as top pros and paying customers to play in these Euro type arenas, you shouldn’t be held hostage to second rate tournament promotion.
Next season Rich, you are going to have a choice, NPPL or PSP, it's easy, you say you would love to play in a Euro type format with all the glitz and glam, well, it looks as though you can, it's called NPPL.
I think you could clarify your last post by saying that, if you stay in the PSP, then you doubt whether you will be playing on grass, in front of spectators ...... and so on.
I hope we all get what we want next season Rich, I know you now well enough to know, you have pride in what you do, how you do it and how you are perceived, that is not an attribute I witnessed from the promoter of the World Cup.

Nice quote for the day Stevie

OK, alright, now I see it. You were actually giving me a compliment on my choice of "quote-of-the-day" and then going on to agree that it seemed strange to you also that PSP would refer to their long-neglected Web site.

With you now.;)

Pete,
I want what is best for the indusrty and the sport in general. Dont you think that if what Chuck is claiming could be done it would be? I think that its good that the NPPL and the PSP are going to be competeing because as players that means we benefit. I just dont think that the numbers are there here in the states, and the biggest point that I was trying to make was that I will play were the best teams are for the competition and everything else is just icing.

this is what chuck claims

1. staduim at a small Junoir college in the middle of no-where
$25,000 min. for four days with staff
I dont think that it cost that much in Europe

2. prizes $20-30-40 90 g's for non pro
even if 1/2 is donated the is $45,000 in prizes to cover

3. PRO $20- 15-10-5
$50 g's

4. reffing travel etc. say 6-7 fields 8 reffs per field
$500 per ref min $30

that is about $150 thousand with out buying fields, air system and all of the little things.
200 teams at 1000 is $200 but I think that $50 is gone in advertising Chuck salary etc. that means they live tournament to tournmanet.

dont get me wrong I want the best for all of us but I also a realest. Ask any of your promoters and see if they had to spend this kind of money how long they could run the events. I hope im wrong and everyone know's im not real smart but I dont think that the numebrs ad up. I hope im wrong cause well play both series.

Rich, you ain't factoring in sponsor money from the industry !!
I know for a fact that Chuck is on a mission to get significant sponsor bucks from many companies and I also know for a fact that he has been successful in many of these proposals to those companies.

Don't get me wrong Rich, you are well aware, I got a lot of friends on the PSP and nothing would make me happier than if they could pull it off but let's face it mate, they have had the Euro template now for five years and done naff all with it.
In that respect, they have proved they can't do it and Chuck looks like he is going to pull it off at his first attempt.
And at least Chuck is saying he is trying to emulate the Euro model but all I have ever heard form Jerry is why he can't !
And as for the expense of say the Campaign Cup, it is much the same as your prediction for the stadium, so believe me when I tell ya, the numbers do stack up.
But I wanna make one thing clear, I ain't on any one person's side, I am, and always have been, on the side of the paintballer, who turns up and pays his money to play and on that basis, we need a change, and if that change is Chuck, then so be it, I couldn't care less !

Uffe - you play for Malera, right? Good team, good rep, and your first post showed you to be intelligent guy - why wade into this spouting a bunch of aggressive **** man?

Got something good to post, post it, if not don't insult people who are having a decent discussion, OK, or your ass gets moderated.
