cons:
1. we give up the our teams to whoever buys our franchise
2. five man sucks, no team work, no chess like strategy
3. coaching and small fields takes a lot of skill out of the game
4. not as many teams can play
5. lose twice and your done
Pros:
1. comentators help spectators understand what is going on
2. venue is much more like Europe, grass etc.
3. multiple scores takes out the luck factor
4. I dont have to carry 17 pods
on the PSP/NPPL thing, Dave would never put the PSP in front of what is best for the IRONMEN or paintball in general. PSP is a small part of what he does, and he does it to promote the sport and our team, believe me its not the money. We will play where the competition is, in fact we might play all three PSP/NPPL/MILLENNIUM.
My wife is going to kill me off yeah and Im going to need a paintball job, so anyone opening something up in NOR CAL let me know
Peace
Rich, whilst I tend to agree with all the pro points you make, I think however, the X-Ball format does allow teamwork to flourish and is conducive to the use of tactics.
As for the number of teams who can play, well, you guys are a victim of your own success, the top playing teams necessarily ‘have’ to play amongst themselves if it is the ‘top’ league, it's basically self-validating in that respect.
Lose two matches and you are done, that is correct, but since you could be playing up to something like 40 games over those two matches, so it should put that element a little bit more in it's proper context.
In fact you would have to lose a whole lot more than two games to bomb out if you think about it.
As for Dave YB, yes, I agree with you on that but he is under some political pressure to stay in the fold but knowing Dave, he is just as likely to turn round and say, I'm off,' if he feels his team or paintball is being too heavily compromised.
Interesting and stressful times are ahead mate !!
Good luck to ya
