What these 2 options u on about, after exams/course work i will look into this more. But for now need to forget about pb, and do some work.
My preferance - the people who have organised the last 2, Gillie and Hatts. Tie it in to the PA.

Back up plan - the two sup'air fields at NPF, bassets pole. Just north of Brum.

The day before PA Cup? Might be an option, but it's a bit close to freshers recruiting week. I'll have to give you a call like i've been promising, damn revision.

(I did 9 hours yesterday, and i've been at it sinse 9:30 this morning. :( )

yeah i think the main issue here would be the costs really... ive tried to convert a lot of my uni mates to ball but theyre just soo damn broke when it comes to paintball.

plus they'll need to spend a lot on gear let alone paint and travel

Germany Millenium is normally during easter holidays and also thats the most broke time of the year (just finishing your longest term).

the Pa could always do a university league alongside the PA league ???

Would definatly have to be 5 man limited paint, 7 man unlimited is just too expensive for uni teams.

One of the key aims (IMO) of an interuni tourney would be to promote paintball, generally and at a university level. Attractiing new teams, and encouraging the formation of new clubs at uni's around the country would be a good way of doing that.

As a result the event would have to be accessable to new players. So i think it would probabley need to be limited paint 5-man. Also I would want to make sure that there was rental kit available (markers, masks etc.). Perhaps a division for the established team who own their own kit and another for new teams with rental markers.

Late October would be a good time, still got plenty of student loan and holiday job money, no deadlines and everyone would still be bright eyed and keen to do things.

I doubt there would be enough teams that could commit to a league to make it worth while, an annual event would be more realistic. We could look in to getting it recognised as a BUSA event if it proves succesful, but that is a whole other can of worms.

Portsmouth Uni
A GENIUS IDEA FROM MR LONGBOW PORTS UNI.

ALL CREDIT FOR THIS IDEA SHOULD GO TO HIM.

Guys and Girls Lady and Gents.

Here it is the solution to the problem. Its easy all we need to know is the date and who wants in. This is the idea.

We could hold the Inter-Uni easily

it would be pretty basic, but it could be done. These where the points discussed:

We could host it at a local site (not asked yet so cant mention there name):- they have 3 fields, site guns for hire, on-site tech, staging area, Air, CO2, and Paint

we would need the site to expand a little to fit us in, but hiring all thier fields, and getting all the teams to buy thier paint and food, i think ambush would be more than happy to help.

Working on 10 teams 5 men each team, £20 per player, this covers hire of three fields, marshalls. U can buy paintballs from them, decent price, and they also have air and co2 on site.

If u havent got a marker they have loads, masks etc, paint, food, its all there.

No more talking about it problem solved. Lets get it cracking.

We can then get ????? to put up his trade stand, and maybe invite some more people, maybe ?????

Get certain teams to Marshal

all done

Easy Peasy

So what date.

I wanna PB!!:D

It sounds like a good possibility, :) the same sort of thing i had in mind for NPF. Where is the Ambush site?

But before we commit to where it is going to be held I'd suggest we wait a few weeks. I finally got round to speaking to the PA yesterday and we talked about a few interesting ideas. I'm not going to go in to detail yet, but it might be worth waiting until I hear back after their next meeting, so that we can concider all our options. There is a lot of potential there that it would be a shame to miss out on.

Regarding when we have it, I reckon late October, plucking a date - the weekend of the 30th/31st October?

We can plan/book it over the summer and find out which of the regular teams are interested, and then promote it to all the other uni's in the 5 weeks of term before it happens. Get promotional stuff produced and contact the Student Unions over the summer, (The Sabaticals will be there several months before term starts.)
