Hey, at the risk of sounding like a complete dork, why was it so long?

I know in my business that if I don't understand what the fk someone's going on about in the first two sentences it goes into file 13.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick?

as no-one has replied in the other thread about where that acutally came from ???

Beaker - It had nothing to do with "Stupid 280 Business" that is a much more recent issue

Rancid - The Actual Application itself was only 6 sides and was the standard form issued by the Sports Councils themselves. It was the supporting documentation that was lengthy.

During the preliminary talks with Sport England we tended to follow a path which led me to put together an excessively detailed package of supporting arguments that covered everything I could think of.


My dialogue with them tends to follow this pattern:

"Paintball does not fulfill the Recognition Criteria for Reason X"

"Sorry but that's not the case. Here are two pages of facts and figures that demonstrate X is not the case"

"Alright, we except that but what about Reason Y"

" That's not the case either. Here are another two pages of facts and figures that demonstrate Y is not the case"

"Alright we accept that but what about Reason Z"

" That's not the case either. Here are two pages of facts and figures that demonstrate Z is not the case"

"Alright we accept that but what about Reason X"

"We've already been over that!"

I guess this can be done privately, but I'd be interested in UKPSF iinitiatives.

Any negative decision on our recognition by UKSport will have to give reasons as to exactly why not. I will post these here on P8ntballer forums for everyone to comment on and offer evidence why they think this or that particular reason is invalid

Under the UKSport procedures we have the right of appeal on any decision they make if we feel it to be incorrect

Rancid, your research may be valuable to the cause. We'll have to wait and see

this may sound really niave, but is there a european body we can go to. like go above the heads of a UK body, maybe EU court of human rights might be able to do something

Their probably is (their usually is ) but if you think getting anything out of our own burocracy is difficult the Euro B have a masters in "Giving people the run around" why is beyond me (remember the strait banana's fiasco ) they are probably going to ask for square paint balls for use in europe still we wait with bated breath Hot Point for your response

At the risk of being a complete TWT, but here goes anyway. I love paintball to bits, so what benefit will it have with being reconised a "SPORT" in the eye of Sport England/UK Sport???

Some one might have covered this but I havn't seen it!

Paintball has become a sport based almost entirley on how damned good it looks. Which is a good thing in my eyes. Therefore it attracts larger egoes, which mean those egoes need to be excercised in a bigger and better way. Therefore Paintball's only natural progression is to be accepted in the mainstream.......

.....let's face it, pulling off a killer tripple backflip mugging punctuated with a little pirouette is pointless unless it is infront of a packed stadium....and we aint gonna get that without some kind of recognition....
