Whoah guys, I'm just trying to hypothosize and highlight where the UK in particular has gone adrift.

I could'nt train someone to play paintball to save my life, for that look no further than errr Mark Toye.

What is obvious and what we can all begin to do, especially as inviduals is:

Increase individual fitness, gym, weights, running none of which need a coach per-se.

Repetative drilling etc

No more My Nice Guy on field (I'm not saying cheat, just be more assertive).

You as individuals can do this, as Duff says, Money Laundering, falling down stairs and unethical businesses are my speciality.

If we've been a tad more vocal, it's because it was self evident after Campaign the majority of UK teams are suffering big time, and for that we have to look at our preparation.

Nice one Duff, if anyone is interested in Emerging Market Tax evasion schemes, Romanian Orphans (they're bloody good workers, just ask Piper), then PM us for details. The rest of the time I just wear festive shoes.

Regretfully it seems hard in the uk(particulary down south) to find players or teams of this calibre to train with.

We've been asked by the Amsterdam Paintball club in association with Paintball Jungle to go over and train them this weekend. This isn't going to be Pro players beating on novice and Am players, this is a structured weekend of drills and player assesment.
Now I know Nexus do a lot with their seminars up north but I am looking at trying to do something similar at a venue down South,
will be posting an inquiry as to wether teams are up for this when we get back, if you want us........... we will come :D

According to Millenium ranking over the year the UK has one team in the top 74 in Div2 standard!!

Although this may have partly be down to foreign teams playing more international events thus getting more points it seems to me we need to get more of our teams playing at this standard at International events on a regular basis rather than sitting at home playing domestics only except Campaign where they then have a panic attack as it's one of the last events of the season and they decide to play safe and improve their chances in Div 3. (This is a generalisation and I know does not apply to everyone)

Hopefully next season we will have more teams step up and play at this level for the whole series and improve themselves which can only have a benificial effect for their development and for the rest of the UK teams when they bring this experience back to the domestic tournaments.

I think we need more teams to make the jump to the mill-series at all levels, Div-1,div-2,div-3.... We only started playing a short time ago and played portugal last year in novice.... The experience stays with you and improves your game ten fold!!!

I also believe the u.k. tournies should adapt the ruling of the mill-series so that when we play in these big events, we're fully aware of the rules we have to abide by... a lot of teams struggle on things like the 1-4-1 rule because it doesn't happen to them in their local league!!!

Also We need more sun!!! Anyway you look at it, only the most dedicated of ballers practices in the stinkin rain... This has been the worst summer I can remember?!?!?!

Here - I'm lacking a bit of information to form and informed oppinion - but 2 possible reasons could be:

1) There is no real connection between most of the rental sites and the tournament scene

2) The tournament scene does not attract the punters.

I think a LOT of British fields are heavily involved in the tournament scene, so I think the right reason is option 2.
Actually Nick, the first is equally true. Most punters will go a site, pay 120 quid for a box of absolute sh*te which has been stored in someone's pond (as far as I can tell) to shoot it through the most battered '98s you've ever seen, hit very little, and come away with some painful welts, a much lighter wallet, and no idea that paintball is anything more than playing soldier in the woods.

There are many sites that support tournament ballers; a few of those will make an effort to show first-timers what lies beyond the corporate bonding day; however, the majority have no particular interest beyond making money out of punters.

I think the reason is to be found in the fact that a good many British tournament teams do NOT see themselves as serious sports teams, with long term goals to reach the top... but rather as cosy pasttimes where you can get away from the wife every Sunday.

Hammer....Nail.... Head!!!

Dont agree with all of it though Nick....

Hope you don't mind me reducing the quote, but I think that the view from the outside is bloody relevant and very interesting.

I think a lot of it is 100% accurate. ;)
