But yeah, I agree with pretty much all that, except I think the especially cool part was the EPA involvement in the process.

(What, you didn't think I'd allow myself to TOTALLY agree, did you? ;))
Chris, believe it or not, I much prefer to get on with people, it is sooooo much easier in my old age :)

So, I think what I maybe saying, although you may prefer the predicatbilty of hostilities between us, I will try to err on the side of 'peace between us' and allow my bloood pressure to at least have a chance of dipping below 'You should be dead Pete'.

Ok, if it wasn't 2 AM here, I'd have an appropriate response... but the best I can muster now is "I'm tired and going to bed."

Good luck in Toulouse.

1--. . . there was a consensus feeling that the compilation of the groups was so lop-sided that the system MUST have been unfair.

2--. . . to make matters worse, all am teams had to play one pro team and one pro team only, this meant that any anomalies were pushed toward the pros and they would then take up the slack by providing an uneven spread of pro- pro games.

3--And just as an afterthought, if anybody takes an objective look at the groups now, as to how they were, it is self evident the new groupings are so much more balanced...basically everyone gets a fair crack of the whip from the start.
This is how it should be......
1--the arrangements are different now and perhaps less lop-sided but are they really any more equitable? Just compare the Ironmen's draw to RL's.
2--are you suggesting anomalies should be dumped on Ams instead? Cause there are gonna be variances of this sort no matter what unless a very strict numbers game is played with all the divisions and nobody wants that. Even so there is still an uneven spread of pro-pro games. The only thing the re-draw did was change the order of assignment so the halves came out closer to "fair."
3--btdt. See post in 'New Draw for Toulouse is up' thread. Re-draw demonstrates two things and a fair crack ain't either of them. One--the Mil guys are doing their best given the parameters they have, at present, decided they need to operate by and, Two--as long as interdivisional play exists one group or another will always get something less than "fairness."

Should the Pros at some point be separated out as has been suggested this whole issue will just begin again this time with the Am bracket receiving the same treatment the Pro bracket gets now. If "fairness" is the goal the closest you are gonna come is to draw and play exclusively within the individual classes. After all, at this point in time, every team assigns themselves to a bracket so can hardly complain about perceived variances within the category they chose for themselves.
