I don’t know/think if y’all care what a nobody like myself has to say about things, but I for one think it’s a good thing that the draw will be changed. My first sentiments about the draw when it came on line yesterday were: “Gee, how convenient that they have put all of the nxl/nppl pros in one league with each other.” Before the draw was out, I had really hoped they would not follow this course of action, and would simply divide those teams over the two leagues, like they would divide the other pro teams normally. But as I feared, this did not happen, and because of that, a lot of Euro pros got a fairly bad draw (not only Nexus!). I think Robbo wasn’t just bitching and moaning because Nexus had a bad draw, but because lot’s of pros had bad draws, because the draw was generally f*cked up.
It’s not the first time I felt something smelled fishy about the draw……….last DMA’s they had put up the draw schedule in an Excel format, in which you could see the sequence in which the teams were numbered. It was plain to see that the person who was responsible for the numbering had not paid any attention whatsoever to the outcome. I think that’s the problem. If the person responsible for the numbering would just take a few moments to think this out, we would get more reasonable draws. Because……eventhough how much fun the spectators will have under the current draw, I think the spectators have to come second in this matter. The players should not be put down because a few Americans decide to come over and put up a heck of a show. I’m sure there were a few commercial interests involved, but those should never get the upper hand.
Anyway thumbs up to the Millennium Board for deciding to finally listen to the public opion.
