Good reply from Al

Got the nail on the head me old mucker!!

Aiming for silverware locally is not the focus for the top teams - perhaps there are just as many good teams out there as they used to be - we just all dont get together anymore to be able to recognise this.

The north/south divide is getting wider as there are now some good circuits up north so the need to travel south is negated. The other side of the coin is that the southern circuit is all but gone with now just Clive at Temple providing tourneys (remember a few years ago we had Eurosplat, Sidcup, Holmbush, Outerlimits, Campaign - aaaah heady days)

For Brit ball to progress we may need a BIG series - yes the Midlands Masters would do - to get EVERYONE together and start mixing it up big time.

This need only be two or three times a year fitted in first before Millenniums start, second in June (ideal) and at lastly the end after Campaign.

Then this could count as top who is top dog here!!!

But Walker - those that do not play Millennium cannot be measured with those that do well in it. In the absence of any other method of measurement this is all we have!!!

There are many good teams over here but as we see quite often - they try their luck in a Millennium event and get smashed up - that is because, particularly at Pro and Am, the teams that play these events are damned good. In my experience Am has got so much harder in the last 18 months and more and more good teams keep on appearing.

These Brit teams then dont go again or leave it a year and try and get good enough by playing the local events - and guess what??? They get smashed at the next Millennium!!

The Rushers made a commitment three years ago to play Millenniums - without too much success for the first year or so but did them all nonetheless. How did they afford it?? Entry fees, paintbills, hotels, car hire, flights?? By cutting back on the local tournaments and training at a local site (much much cheaper).

Now this isnt for everyone and certainly not for new teams that need the experience but if you want to be the best - play the best - and that is Millenniums!!!

Lots of em!!!

I want Britain back on top - we arent even nearly on Par at the moment.

Who wants it?????

WE DO!!!

Aw shucks, you guys.. :D ;)

Seriously though there are a lot of really good northern teams now, which means we play against better teams all the time, forcing us to get better or get spanked.. and i dont like gettin spanked (unless its by pretty girls in skimpy underwear ;) ) We also train regularly - which is easy for us because were all best mates - we all live in the same town - we got our own training field. From everything ive read and heard since becoming involved in paintball this is the only way to really improve your game so weve commited to this route from the start. Will it pay off? I hope so, well just have to wait n see

You guys are gonna rule ass

The biggest advantage you guys got is your lil' sup air field, not many teams can either afford or commit to owning a set up of their own. The more you practice a the better you'll get (duh!) but you can also practice by yourselves on it which will help you work on your individual skills and game basics. So many teams out there win games but suck big time when it comes to technical ability and style. Ok, style doesn't win you trophies but it makes your team look a whole lot better which helps you feel a lot better about yourselves as players and lets face it, we all love to watch a team that looks good when they play. So do sponsors.

We'd love to come and abuse your set up regularly but it's just a bit of a trek. We'll see though.

As for the tourney scene, well I said earlier we need a higher profile local series. if the promoters get their heads together surely between them we could have a class set of higher profile events. I know this aint for all teams but like Mr. T said it'd be real cool to have a good size championship series of around 3 or 4 tourneys for the pedigree teams, or anyone who wants to enter for that matter, that is a great well run set of events with good fields and good facilites. If we can't help ourselves then no-one else is gonna do it for us. Think about it.
Simply the best at Elsham was awesome and the Diablo cup ripped too, events of that calibre, perhaps maybe with a bit more clout and slicker venues. This would get us all together to see who's doin the biz and how, **** we may even realise how good we actually are.
