The Rules (playing in shorts)

I thought this rule wasnt enforced untill 2 days ago

Untill i wasz robbed of my sexy shorts and pulled out, mid game.

Famine were you pulled out too? Or were you pre-warned.
I was pulled out right after i hit my barricade on the 4th game on saturday (first time we played field 1)

Im not one for conspiracy theories but does anyone think this has something to do with the trade interest. I mean they all had trousers for sale and a captive market.
I heard some shops sold out of barrel bags and locking barrel bungs after the rules were strongly enforced.
I know some barrel bungs can be very loose but ive also seen paintballs fly through the stitching at the end of the barrel bag as if it wasnt there, but even the loosest barrel bung will take most of the velocity out of the shot.

I wrote that link article, ya know...

And I remember those teams back in '91. I'm not gonna name names, because that team is still active, under another name, playng pro ball. (And that's all the hinting I'm giving you!!!)

I'm not happy about no shorts either, but I have soliutions. Get a pair of spandex leggings, wear them under your shorts. Bonus points if theyre hte same color as your shorts, and wear your knee / shin guards as normal. I wear black shorts and the leggings, and no ref EVER asks questions.

And it's for comfort. I don't like long pants that are too freaking short. WHY can't JT or some other company m,ake pants for LONG LEGGED dudes? So, until it becomes available, I'm going to argue to let me wear shorts and knee/shin guards. Same thing as pants in protection.

Animal Paintball is making pants in a 34 inseam coming MARCH, but it's about a month too late.... Gimme my sexy thighs anyday.

How do I know? The Tippman girls thought my thighs were sexy....

I am outraged by your suggestion that the trade are involved in the enforcing of rules. I note with interest that only Undercover, Phoenix and Just Paintball stocked trousers, and only Undercover had barrel socks so I assume from that - your comments are directed at Undercover.

I did not have any input on the rules at the event. It was not a Series 2002 event therfore I do not set the rules. Last year I sold locking barrel plugs this year bags the reason behind this is I read the rules and saw an area where players would arrive at the event without certain items the organisation deemed essential. The Millennium series insist on barrel socks therefore as a retailer of products I stock what players want/need.

The trousers are always on my stand and I sold no more than I would expect at a big event. I sold out of most sizes because I only stock two of each size, BUT no one came to me for trousers beacuse they had been told to change their shorts!!!!

I appreciate all players are allowed their comments and as a retailer of paintball products here are mine!!!

I understand all the possible safety aspects but, John i'm with you on the short thing! All i can say i'm glad i didn't take the bottoms of my JT's like I was going to on Saturday!

I've play numerous tourneys as well in shorts and kneepads and never been given any grief!

Ahh well i guess i'll just have to stay covered up from now on! :(

However last time I played in shorts, simply the best, i did get shot on the bare skin bit on the of your leg. . .it did sting!! :D

Wot about boxes then?!?!? Are ya gonna be groped next to check your wearing one?? :D

On mission paintball didn't that fat bloke wear short's in all his matches? he wasn't told off i don't think. Are there like different rules for every tourney cause that is a reason we still not organised enough to be considered a proper sport.
When we have a set of rules that governs the entire tourny scene in england then we will be all the better for it.
