What's acceptable content and language for P8ntballer? We've had versions of this discussion before but there's lots more peeps hanging around now. You got a gripe, let's hear it. You got a semi-literate point of view--take your best shot.
Will it change anything? Maybe, maybe not. Let's see what happens.

Generally, anything is fine.....to an extent(is that a contradiction?) But Jacks post is taking it a tad too far, even if it is a joke.

Now all the other post in that thread were fine, as the majority were joking, and there wasn't much offence in there. But pushing on racism to that extent could be taken the wrong way.

Had the post been surrounded with smileys, then, MAYBE, it would have remotely funny. Now it's just insulting and I'm THIS close to hitting the ban button. There's plenty of ignorance in the world already, don't need any here.

i don't know if jack is coloured or not or is saying it as a joke.

we can not see what he looks like - if he is a coloured person, and we could see that, then it could be seen as a joke.

if he is white and it was meant to be a joke then there is the whole range of emoticons he could of used.

i am white but find it racist as i have played with a variety of races including black.

edit:

comments like that are bad for the forum and the sport. imho let him explain himself and if it does not see right then ban him for at least a period of time

I see the hobnailed jackboot of conformity and "good taste" has already reared it jumbo melon. Smilies don't change the content, Jay, they simply modify how you're supposed to feel about it as you interpret the writer's intent. So if it was a joke it was in poor taste but okay? But if it wasn't a joke then ban him? Same words, either way.
Lighten up, biggun. This is educational.

Can we please try and have a vaguely intelligent conversation about this?

i was pretty shocked at JD's that when i read it. believe it or not i am heavily against racism and was going to make a nasty reply but thought better of it

but not focusing on one thread... ive never seen anyone say anything really bad on here

this is my point of view, not my team etc, feel free to flame all you want but all the threads saying "welcome no name to team elephant tail" is pointless...personally im not to bothered if someone has joined a new team/got a new sponsor. the Super teams that are representing the UK in USA etc are fine thought because its interesting to follow them



and i also believe we need a wider range of emotions like a crying one for instance and some others

The "Brothas" thread aside........

I believe that there are to many "cliques" on the board, this will only deter future members.
Also the moderating is not consistent, too many people spam and get away with it due to who they are or whos the guv`nor, i think that rules should be drawn up and stuck too.
If those rules are only paintball related items in every forum, so be it........

Language wise I think swearing is almost accepted on here now so either its enforced or it is`nt.....

But apart from that no major beefs.

I honestly feel that the western world is in danger of disappearing up it's own politically correct arse.

We are too worried about hurting peoples feelings. It's like saying we can't make jokes about the Irish/Geordies being thick or the Scottish being tight. Do we really think that? No, it's just a stereotype that is funny for the occasional piss take. The 'brothas' and jail thing is just a joke...

Now, I can't say for sure because I am white but for crying out loud, you are being racist thinking a black person will take it badly - they do have a sense of humour too!

What about all the piss takes at white peoples expense because we can't dance and black blokes are better equiped in the trouser department? There was a film called 'White Men Can't Jump' - don't hear me phoning watchdog do you? Because it's just a joke, enjoy it in the spirit it was intended.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of people who have complained about Jack's post aren't black.

And just for the record I have no idea who Jack is and have probably never met him. If he deliberately did it to atagonise then he'll have to do a lot better than that for me.
