I always say "paintball equipmant" or "paintball guns" to TSA officers. I feel that if I say "markers", they will get an image of felt tip pens in mind, so that when they actually check, they'll say to themselves "whoa, he said he was transporting art suppies, but actually he has a gun in here he didn't tell us about!"

Excepting those airlines that refuse to carry any PB gear I've never had a problem with the "gun", it's always the tank that worries them. Since I started unscrewing my bottle from its regulator I've had nary a problem. Even TSA on examining the bottle alone can quickly and easily see its both empty and non-threatening.
And I got the full monty going to and from Denver last week as my ticket was purchased within a week of my travel dates which automatically flags you for closer inspection these days.

Funny really........ complaining about ballers being PC when the commonest insult in paintball is "that's gay".
In fact, one of my team does it, which knackered him when he got into an argument with an actual homosexual...... he didn't have a single working insult.

That should have stopped him from using it - I have a couple of
gay mates (well infact they are a couple) and I constantly call them gay!!!

Now American thats an insult!!
