Excepting those airlines that refuse to carry any PB gear I've never had a problem with the "gun", it's always the tank that worries them. Since I started unscrewing my bottle from its regulator I've had nary a problem. I always say "paintball equipmant" or "paintball guns" to TSA officers. I feel that if I say "markers", they will get an image of felt tip pens in mind, so that when they actually check, they'll say to themselves "whoa, he said he was transporting art suppies, but actually he has a gun in here he didn't tell us about!"
