My Dear Comrade Loco,
as far as I know, the Fly is adjustable from "tournament legal' to 'definitely not tournament legal' via an internal menu that cannot be accessed during play. This is, I believe, set by the player and responsibility for 'cheating' therefore rests with said player. I do enjoy your conspiracy theories though, but unfortunately I have not read the manual, so I would not be able to accurately answer you as to what it says.

However, I had heard that team coaches would be able to remote activate cheat modes in the Fly, and then be able to make the offending player actually disappear at the end of the game, re-appearing much later after spending time in a strange limbo-like semi-existence.

Suggest you organise a demonstration at the entrance to the Denver event. You should organise a group of like-minded activists, get some banners done, probably saying things like:

'we demand the truth behind the manuals'
'we know what is going on and we don't like it'
'Down with this sort of thing'
'Cheats go to Hell'
'manufacturers are evil'
'no more secrets'
'Baca Loco for President'
'CCCPUSA'

and of course.....
'Power to the people!'

ps. I heard a whisper that LA were entered for Denver already...

a--'we demand the truth behind the manuals'
b--'we know what is going on and we don't like it'
c--'Down with this sort of thing'
d--'Cheats go to Hell'
e--'manufacturers are evil'
f--'no more secrets'
g--'Baca Loco for President'
h--'CCCPUSA'

i--'Power to the people!'

j--ps. I heard a whisper that LA were entered for Denver already...
1--so it's a read between the lines dealio? Good to know.
2--seems a little over engineered to me. Probably be more enticing if coaches could simply deactivate cheats remotely, too.
3--There are no like-minded activists otherwise it would have been an excellent proactive suggestion. Good to see you getting into the spirit of things but you're slogans are somewhat misguided I'm afraid.
a--the truth is already out there. One truth is guns manufactured with "extra" legal capabilities are specifically intended to fascilitate "cheating" because most manufacturers feel they have no choice given the current climate if they wish to stay competitive and in business.
b--depends on the meaning of "we" doesn't it? In general "we" could care less as long as our gun is faster than your gun. Me, I don't like it because it's a situation out of control which is a) a serious safety concern, b) contrary to the spirit of Sport and c) likely to eventually blow up in our faces with consequences nobody wanted.
c--as an Anarcho-Paintballist I'm generally down with all manner of things but if you're going to effectively tap into the masses seething undercurrent of violence and anger you need to be more specific as a rule
d--cheats are, as you routinely insist (tho not in so many words), morally neutral. Now cheaters are another thing in which case you could be right
e--Of course not. Evil is a registered trademark of PMI so that would likely be an infringement.
f--actually there are very few real secrets, mostly just lots of peeps prepared to turn a blind eye
g--if nominated I will not run and if elected I will not serve
h--they used to have the best puppet theater but they went bankrupt and changed their name
i--Right on, Bro, but the people seem to prefer something with more security and less responsibility

Baco,

Are we talking about 'debounce' here or actual ramping in that after 'x' bps the gun will shoot 20+ bps even though you're actually only pulling 'x' bps??

CBL (Comrade Baca Loco),
you didn't even mention 'J', which was the only relavent one to the posts.
They had better hurry up and make me a Supermod so I can start deleting posts like yours to keep things on track.

OK folks, if you all have to have gay signatures, can't you just add this to the bottom (if you think I would do a decent job):

"I support Intheno as 'Super-mod for the People'"

Thankyou

ps. Did you hear that Dye have sponsored the NPPL? Can anyone confirm that?

PC,
Both. At present debounce is the most widely abused gun function but I daresay EVERY manufacturer who offers a debounce option could narrow the parameters of its function considerably and still take into account manufacturing and operating variances. As to programmable or preset ramping--it's coming to a gun near you soon. It's out there and it's coming from industry, aftermarket producers and independants technogeeks.

Intheno--Dye Men? btdt though I'm sure it makes you all hot and sweaty

Good luck with that SuperMod thing.

What you mean it's not vital to be able to put your gun onto DB1?

I didn't think any guns worked 'properly' unless set to DB1...

Anyone want to tell me when DB1 is legal?

Does anyone care anymore?

Obviously rec is bigger than tournament ball and that's what all these modes and capabilities are for, right? no one would really use them in a tourny or say at their local field for practice, or all the time. No of course not.

Next question. Why do guns with 3 shot burst, FA and other modes outsell guns without these modes? Even at the lowest levels. That is if people can't legally use these modes to play anywhere? Is it only renegade players makeing these purchasing decisions?

Oops. OT. Sorry. But then I don't really care who ITN is, just as long as he buys me a beer next time we meet. And that goes for everyone else also. :D

Jay, you know I love the 'Dam man, wish I could have made it this year, but alas. Guess where I just went for $15 steak and lobster lunch...
