Aaron! At least now I know how you have the time available to think this crap up, and why you have so little idea of the actual facts.
Gotta go Aaron, very busy here...

That's it? Chuck really does matter, because it was Ged and Dave with some Bart instead of Bart and Dave with some Ged?

There's still no Chuck.

Can anyone come up with any reason why we should think Chuck/NPPL is not controlled by PP other than "You're wrong, you're wrong, you're wrong!" ??

You said it yourself Pete - there's no point in having people like Chuck there, because what Chuck wants doesn't matter. If Ged wants it, that's what happens, regardless of what Chuck thinks. PP is in control. Anyone who thinks NPPL is not subject to PP's control, like Missy here, is engaging in self-delusional wishful thinking.

Chi Town, I ain't for one second stating Chuck was not referenced along with Bart, it's just that I know Bart was.
I would reasonably assume Chuck was talked to as I would also assume Jerry and the Gardners were.
I can't see the big thing here, so what if Chuck wasn't actually there at those talks?
I can't see the relevence here.

Jerry's not in control of PSP. Jerry's opinion hasn't mattered regarding PSP for going on 2 years - so I'm not sure where you're going with the comparison.

PP controls what happens in that league.

I'm calling this horse dead. Missy can spend all day claiming I'm wrong, but I'm not. Missy just isn't able to look past the story he's being given to see what is actually occuring. Yes, NPPL claims to be separate, yes, NPPL claims to be "representing" players, and yes, NPPL claims to be enforcing some sort of standard of events. But it's all hype. NPPL is PP's insurance. As long as people feel good about it, PP will throw some money Chuck's way to associate with the name. If people start feeling not so good about it, PP will lay all the blame on NPPL, toss it, and start a "new" league without NPPL sanctioning to fix "the problems caused by NPPL".

If PP wants to change the format, do you think NPPL can stop them? No. If NPPL wants to change the format, can they do it without PP's approval? No. Is the ESPN show called the NPPL Finals? No. It's called the US Paintball Championship (sanctioned by NPPL). There's a reason for that.

I don't blame Missy for falling for the hype, it's pretty good hype. But it's still just hype.

Ya know what Aaron, I don't give two ****s who does what and who runs this or that; in both organisations you will have a certain degree of 'poetic licence' going on and the people on the inside (of which Missy is one) know the real hierarchy of real responsibilities.
I don't care as long as they make the right decisions and as far as that goes, I honestly thought Dave and Ged would do the deal and that's what my main concern is and not whether Chuck is some lap dog of PP.

Aaron,

I don't know what Chuck did to your first-born child, but he isn't a lap-dog to anyone, and things aren't how you see them through your ****-tinted sunglasses.

For the sake of argument, why not just put "i think..." in front of what you post. Then you won't have me telling you that you are wrong all the time, which is getting old to be honest.
No-one is giving me a story, no-one is giving me any hype. Perhaps if I was the type of guy to switch between various competing companies in my paintball career then I would understand how certain people would want to keep me in the dark, to protect themselves from info being whored around when I made my next move, but I am 18 years in and not going anywhere. So if you think I am an idiot, dog, pawn etc or that people would 'Hype' me then you are again wrong. Now give it up and talk about something you know instead of spreading your bull**** and making yourself look truly stupid in the process.
Come to me in HB (if your employers send you there and if you are still in their employ) and I will explain fully how all this works so that you don't have to be quite so ignorant of the facts.

and Pete's right, there is much more important stuff to debate, so pull your knife out of Chucks back and move on.

Pete - I genuinely thought it would work out too, and I don't see it as a good thing for anyone that it didn't. The PSP have gone with NPPL dates for 2 of the 6 events they have scheduled, so it looks like this is the year it goes head to head, and if it is, it won't just be for the 2 events that the PSP choose. Its definitely going to get worse before it gets better....

How would they know? Has the NPPL released any confirmed '06 dates beyond HB yet?
