Woodland

So the woodland field as not to everyones liking!

Sorry

Originally we were going to cap the event at 28 teams so it would be just sup'air and hyperball, but there was a large influx of teams and the site already had a large group of rentals.

To try to keep both groups seperate we had to use the woodland field.

I have to respect the site owners wishes and therefore it was my decision to use field, so please don't have a go at the siite owner etc.... it was me

Bully, we are not having a go at the site organisers or even you. We are just letting you know in a constructive way (hopefully) that we did not like the woodland field. I understand that Nottingham still have a business to run and can remember past tourneys when rentals have been there when a tourney was on. This is not a problem and even gave us a laugh when about 60 of them played on the hyperball field. Its nice to see the differing styles of play! Also we all know that paintballers love to show off their kit to newbies, it makes us feel special :D We need to experiment and you did this at the weekend, but unfortunately in my opinion it did not pay off. Well done for trying, its doing things like that that move the sport on. Imagine if no one tried sup'air, where would we be now

See you all at the next tourney in Sunny Wales. As always, I am sure it will be an excellent tourney.

agree and disagree

I have to agree that the woodland field was a bit dodgy but it also provided an amusing game - after shooting of almost all our remaining paint playing around with a matrix we found out we'd made the playoffs - oops! to top this we ended up playing JCS Imperial on the aforementioned field, which we hadnt played on all day. It didnt really matter that we'd wasted our paint caz we only got to shoot about 10 balls each! To say the thirty seconds after game on were a bit of whitewash is an understatement, but nevertheless it was fncking amusing - seeing some guy clear as day stood 10 feet in front of you but that you cant shoot is slightly distracting but intense. :D

Steve the field was a good idea but just poorly executed, the ideas previously posted for different height bunkers was good, and some weights on the bottom of the netting perhaps? Its certainly different, and has potential

And just to let you know Nick (and all the lads from Imperial), whatever i said above about a whitewash.. well it was just because we didnt want to embarrass you! ;)

And finally thanx very much to all the teams in our division, it was a top day, see you all in march :p

Which chick was injured?
Steph, the very young one. Her goggles came off in a fall & she hit her head right next to her eye on one of the pegs holding the barricade in place - very nasty but luckily no blood & only mild concussion & quite bad shock.

Well, could have been an awful lot worse - she could have picked up a shot in the eye, or if the peg she came down on had been half an inch to the side........
Doesn't really bear thinking about.

Anyway, I'll make sure the messages are passed on in case she can't get online.

I quite enjoyed the woods field...

I agree that the layout was a bit wacky, and that the gaps under the bunkers were a bit dodgy...

But I had a very entertaining game on that field; mainly due to the comedy antics of Hermitt and myself and the decisive nature of our forward movements...

It basically went like this:

Me: Lets take that bunker... Ready?
Hermitt: OK... 3 2 1 go....
I shoot....
Hermitt shoots....
No one runs.
Me: Umm werent you supposed to run to the bunker?
Hermitt: Uhh... I thought you were going to run!
Me: You're the front player! I'm supposed to cover you!
etc.
etc.

Anyway, we were 4-2 up on that field and still managed to lose... bah.

Cheers to Hermitt, shuck, spud and the rest of the troopers for a fun, if unproductive, day!

PS. Rich, sorry for messing up your cocker... I didnt know those things were that finicky... I wont do it again... Promise!
