Ahhh

I was waiting for you to jump in Robbo. Thanks for correcting me. I guess I was given false information and I stand corrected.:)

Simon, whoever suggested going 'ten man' was the only way for the Brits to improve is talking out of their big fat ass.
The Russian Legion ain't ten man and they have beaten all the top Yank teams.

I beleive it was a member of a certain top UK pro team who were trying to sort out a 10 man tourney cos they were desperate for some practice before going across the pond!

Just wondering if anyone else thinks that 7 man isa better format?

Mother, is that you?
Robbo, why not re-introduce your training days. Without wanting to bum you up, they were pretty good. I remember the session you give us...we learnt five years' worth of play in one day.

It was so good the next week we beat three of the top five pro teams in the country - one of them was the Nam. Do you remember that? No, well are you sitting comfortably and I'll begin..........................

Seriously though, what about it?

Robbo, I think this is a bit insulting

At your stage of the game it is undoubtedly better to get as much tourney experience as you possibly can, once you have grasped the basics you are then better placed to devise your training regimes to accommodate what you think you need to concentrate on.
Just my opinion u understand !!!

The Hellfish have been arround for a while now and have some pretty good and very experienced players in their squad as well as a recent influx of new blood. They should be looking at winning their (admitadly low) group at each tourney. So the question remains:

We are a Novice team, planning on playing all of the 2k2 series, which means a tournament a month. What would you reccomend we do between events to improve the team?
Does anyone (who is preparred to share the secret) know what the Russian Legion"Reductionist" tequniques actually entail?

Richard (who is probably sill "Learning the basics")

What i'd like to see is someone like Robbo, or the other big names when it comes to Paintball knowledge, actually start writting some in-depth articles, or even a book, on right way to train.

I know that when i played a tourney at Temple in the A division, I learnt a hell of alot on playing tight. Getting pounded on by NWC and Banzai and Backlash et al, meant that I'm now aware of the curved nature of the sup'air and no longer leave that little bit of my knee or toe sticking out at the bottom where the bunker curves back.

Yet i still now next to nothing on field walking and spotting shooting lanes, since you can shoot a can repeatedly to become better snapshooting, but field reading without someone who knows better to point out things is a very slow process.

Or maybee I just dumb

There is such a book! And it IS written by the big names! It is called the ultimate guide to paintball.

As far as fieldwalking is concerned, that's a bit iffy. Some teams do well because they are really good at it, and do it for hours on end, others do hardly any of it, and still kick serious ass........

Ask Robbo, he wrote (part of) the thing! :D
Try some of the online stores, some of them have it.
Hey Bud, as you rightly say, I did contribute two chapters to the book but there is no way I would recommend it to anyone.
I was asked to write up three articles concerning particular areas of paintball, I did so.
They then proceeded to then f##k the whole thing up.
Apart from my articles (which I ain't saying out of arrogance), most of the rest of that book is complete crap.
It is poorly edited and full of meaningless chapters that merely fill pages and not answer questions or give practical information.
I would rather I had never been asked to contribute to that book !!!
Hmmmmmm :(
