Who is "Jack"???

[sigh]

Just goes to show you that at times when a person's mind is made up, they can't be swayed otherwise even in the absence of good evidence supporting their position.

OK then answer please:
(1) True or false: Your BELIEF that I and TJ are the same person is based upon CONJECTURE.
(2) True or false: There is no evidence to support your stance that TJ and I are the same person.
(3) True or false: It is POSSIBLE that TJ and I are not the same person.

What you believe does not change what is true, and while you point out things that LEAD you to believe that TJ and I are one and the same, the FACT is that we are not.

All in good fun, yes...it's all good my friend. But I REALLY AM telling you the truth. I AM NOT TJ LAMBINI. And it wouldn't really be important to me to convince you of this, except I'm just wanting to keep the misery going by letting you know that, as much as you'd like to feel differently, you REALLY DON'T have it figured out.

:p

Lotsa love,
~J~

Kind of a last word in sort of debate

First, for the public record, many others attempting to defend themselves would have gone overboard, or arranged to have the whole thread deleted, or resorted to lesser tactics. So let me here and now state that Mr. Owen shows the fortitude and honour of a gentleman.

I deal in my work with people desperately trying not to be blamed for major failures, so the concepts of misdirection and the weaknesses of legal arguments (using an extreme to prove a norm) are part of my workday every day (as it is with any corporate/political work place). The possibility and tangibility of something does not make it absolute or real - I don't have to see the President in person to know he has no spine. Just as the possibility that Justin was not TJ does not make it so.

And Justin has been such a great sport about all this that I'm pretty certain if our paths ever cross materially instead of digitally, the first round is for me to buy (if he'll drink with me
!).

Enough likely connections create the association. Not enough for murder one but good enough for manslaughter. The crosstalk in the forums (feeding off each other), template look to their post's signatures, complete support both provided each other's existence (no, I'm not saying Justin isn't real!), how fast Justin came on to defend TJ in the previous incarnation of this thread, and the accidental shared vocabulary aren't enough for me to say "There is no one else who could be TJ", but are enough for me to say "Justin's the one that elimenation left standing" (no pun intended). Methinks he doth protect sort of thing? Don't know.

In the spirit of due process, I hope Justin you will have the last word in this thread. If you don't, best of luck.

Good piece on the most common questions in the last PGI I have, maybe you (or I) should have some fun with something about parodies of pro players.

I know I'm a parody of some kind,
Be well, signing off this thread as a friend,

Larry

True and False

Many of the things you say I would agree with, such as some of the things you use(d) to come to the understandable thought that I MIGHT be TJ. I have noticed these very same things...

First of all, both TJ and I (I think) have a characteristically light-hearted way of wording what we write. I don't think either of us would earn A's in English for proper grammar or absolute correctness in literacy...I speculate that we both more or less write things down the way we think about them or the way we would say them verbally.

Second of all, being as TJ and I both work for PGI and we do poke at each other and quite often support and/or feed off each other in discussions, it makes the whole subject suspect.

Third of all, yes our forum sigs that appear below our posts are very similar...no doubt.

OK dealing with #1: When I started writing for PGI, a number of people commented that I had a seriously characteristic way of writing that was easily picked up on...this came up when someone asked me to write an article for them under a pen name and I said that if I was going to write something, I'd rather just stand behind it 100% and not hide...to which another person said that I "might as well, because as soon as [you] write it everyone will know who wrote it anyway."
Now this is a kind complement, but I don't think there's anything inherently special in the way I write, and someone who thinks about writing the same way I do (such as TJ, I imagine) will, by the nature of the beast, have a style similar to mine.

Dealing with #2: What I tell you about the first time I ever saw TJ (in St. Louis at the NAAPSA Championships) IS TRUE. So, we knew each other even before we were "Justin Owen and TJ Lambini, PGI scribes." So there's history there, we know each other, we're friends, and we do poke back and forth at each other...not unlike I do with Pete, Mr. Big, David, and plenty others. I tend to pick on people I like, and just ignore those I don't. hehe.

Dealing with #3: There's a really good reason our forum signatures are alike, and that's because I had never had one before...and then I saw TJ's and liked the concept of it. Not having the slightest computer-creative bone in my body (hell, I still don't even have an Avatar), I modeled my signature after TJ's.

Last but not least, there's one other option you haven't considered in the whole discussion...which, as it happens to be, would be the correct (although not specific) conclusion. You've assumed that TJ is an alter-ego created by a different forum regular...in other words, someone who posts on the board(s) as someone OTHER than TJ. But what if TJ really is just TJ? Or even if he IS an alter-ego, what if he is the only identity that a certain someone in the Paintball community uses to post under???

Anyway, it's all good my friend and I'm not the slightest bit upset at this whole discussion...I think it's kind of funny and I consider it a compliment to be considered along with TJ, as well as being honored by your other compliments. But TJ is an individual separate from myself. I've never been one to hide behind anything because it's just not in my nature...and even IF I was TJ, I wouldn't defend myself against being so if someone figured me out. I'd just drop you an e-mail or something saying "congrats! you figured me out!" but we both know that hasn't happened (and won't).

If our paths do cross, don't worry it's all good. I've "attacked" all of these posts with a big grin on my face. Take care,

Oh, PS...if you check out the "Iraq" thread in the Speak your brains section, you'll find that mine and TJ's thoughts on the matter differ in the extreme.

Tyger

Old School, New Tricks
TJ was here in Wisconsin a few weeks ago. I played with him here. He crashed in our spare bedroom. He freaked our cats out.

Now I don't know if HE will admit to playing here, but dammit, he was here. And, I can reassure you, TJ Lambini is NOT J-Lo.

Take me for what I'm worth,
