Hmm,

Seems that whoever did this has a thing for egos, might be worth keeping an eye out for a mixture of the parts. (If its a player then they would know how to and that it is more likely that the resultant mixtures would be harder to recognise)

Cheers

im not much of an ego fan, but id like to see people get thiewr kit back, is there any way we can make a collective list of all the gats that have gone walkies, and give them to event organisers, and shops. at least that way, they'll either be cought, or if they read the furums, they'll realise they wont even be able to risk useing the guns, or selling them, for that matter, and hopefully they will be returned.

Again, thefts from tournaments.

It's time that there was some sort of locker available at the table, maybe part of the structure of the seating or the table itself. It doesn't have to be mega secure, just enough to be enclosed and locked would be fine.

If you went to a sports centre, you wouldn't expect to leave your gear in the changing room on the bench, so why aren't we asking the event organisers to supply, or rent out, secure lockers for our expensive gear.

Forget security guards, cure the problem at the source, take temptation away from the thieving tw@ts, and lock your gear away.
This now has to be the only course of action as this kit theft is on the up - Wonder what the cost would be for a bank of portable lockers to hire for the day? - Surely, as you have said before Tom, an extra £5 - £10 quid per man/team* when you've paid £100's and poss £1000's of pounds for your gear and paint/entry etc isnt a lot to ask?

I wonder if they hire out "testicle shockers or testicle removal equipment" for those caught stealing....

It is also a good point to check you're insurance is on and valid just in case :(

I've recently been using a security kit I picked up online for about a tenner; a plastic coated cable with padlock and some mounting fixtures that can be stuck to toolboxes etc or any hard surface. I use it to hook everything together and attach to a table etc. Not totally secure but anyone trying to remove a heavy toolbox, kitbag, flametech bag, table etc as one large bundle might just get noticed:)

Gutted :( Seem to be so many EGO's being stolen at the moment.

You work your arse off to get a nice marker and some b*stard nicks it  I'm picking up my EGO on saturday. I would go MENTAL if someone nicked it. Thing is, if you catch them and pound them for it, you get in trouble!

Maybe at the more permanant sites there should be some sort of lockable gun holster or rack system that is secured down. Perhaps a metal holder for your marker that has a lockable cross beam at the back so you can bring your own padlock? Basically you could put your maker barrel in first in the holder and only your air supply would protrude then you could lock it up? Bugger, someone could nick your air supply then  Oh well, you know what I mean!

Dam good idea....
you can use a security cable that is used to secure laptops down, they are light, portable, and easy to use, fairly cheap from PC world or another computer place, and like olly says, if all your gear was locked together, some one would notice a guy struggling with the whole lot!
