Sp would have a good chance of getting this patent out.

What with their $800-an hour lawyers at it.

If they intend to go about suing every company that has designed an electro marker (if theydo) then it would be a good idea to have all the companies pull together to fight it as Sp will not only be dealing with 1 opposition party, but several.

But it will probably not go this way

So if all SP boycotters or oppossers of what happens
just deposit 50 $/Euro's or 34BP
into the Fight the SPsuit Foundation
from which funds can be used to pay $900-an hour lawyers
in legal battle
it might be (y)our best money spend in PB related stuff

My bankaccount is ......... :D

but is there still no official statement from SP on the whole matter ??
Surely not about the legal side of things
but they could at least show they acknowldge our concerns
about the future of PB in general

hmmm just being too Naive again, i guess

Think thats the annoying thing isn't it. At no point have they said 'don't worry people because we don't intend doing this to shaft you all in pricing and choice' which is what I'm thinking there going to do :(

Looks like they are just quite happy to lay suits on people with little or no regard for the people who have actually grown there business... us, the consumer..

Only my opinion though :)

well one thing you actually need to do is get the retail industry behind a boycott. SP can't sell anything if the retail base won't support the products.

Think about it, if you could get 75% of US/World stores to stop selling/carrying SP products that will hurt their bottomline and chances of winning and at least help the other manufacturers fighting them.

How think about this if you have no revenue or profits coming in and continue to run at a loss you are just going to be handing out money hand over fist if they have no revenues coming in. Now have the other manufacturers challange the patent and any lawsuits and get the bigger ones to go first or do it as a group to reduce costs.

Now you have companies who are still making money go for a longer lawsuit and drag it out as much as possible causing SP to hand more and more cash to lawyers to continue the suit. Thats the business part of it. If you want to compete in the business world sometimes you just need to think and get a bit dirty to come out ontop and try to always think with your feet.

So now your challange is to get stores to stop selling, retailing, wholesaling, distributing, carrying, offering or showcasing the SP products then that will help.
