Paint prices.

Have read the threads here and thought I'd pass on details of a site I work at and promote where ever possible.

The site is just north of the A10/M25 junction and there price structure is:

£17.50. All kit, V Force goggs, inferno markers, Tea & coffee all day, BBQ lunch or vegetarian alternative and includes 200 paintballs.
£35.00. As above but includes 600 paintballs. Therefore extra 400 = £4.37p per extra 100
£50.00 as above but includes 1000 paintballs. Therefore this extra 400 = £3.75 per 100.

I think the prices are fair.
Extra CO2 is FOC providing 600+ paintballs have been sold to each customer.

The site is not that busy but I would have thought with these prices they should be.

Walk ons days are being considered at an all in price of £45 including green fee, CO2, T&C, BBQ lunch & boxx 2000 (Formula 13, Nightmare or even Blaze).

Some interesting points.

I agree that site owners cannot work for nothing, I know this, I see the bills for the overheads each month and I can tell all the players out there its not easy. However that said our site is certainly making enough to make an impact on our local community. In the short time we have been open we are drawing a lot of regular players who have said (and I quote) "Paintballs one of those things you always want to try and say youre gonna but its because you guys are so close to the city and the fact youre cheaper than ******* (other local sites) that I can play every month"

Its so good to hear someone say that. We dont make any profit, every penny goes out to marshals or directly back into the business but it is paying off. We can honestly say our mission when starting out is working and the site is continuing to evolve. Its a labour of love. :D

As for the remarks about paint prices going down over the years and the vets commenting on paint prices back in the days of old, I think this if anything shows how far the sport has gone. Not through evolutions of equipment, worldwide tournaments or fancy press. Not even TV. But simple supply and demand. I think it comes down to the fact that in small corners of country sites are selling that lil bit cheaper and making it that lil bit more accessible thus bringing more players into the community and allowing manufacturers the opportunity to sell cheaper to stay ahead of competition. How far this can go is anyones guess, maybe we are at the peak now, but surely if the community continues to grow the industy can too?
Agreed, an owner has many overheads but at a site I've used a couple of times his marshalls who I guess are on a 'work for paint' or cash in hand deal spent more time talking t6o us that getting the punters out playing and buying paint. Not the way it worked when I marshalled a few years back, quick turnaround time, more games and if they can afford it get them buying boxes for better value.

Totally agreed dude. We try to fit as many games as possible in for the customers. We try to structure the days around them as much as possible. The marshals are all a part of the business for us. We're all friends and we all have a say in what we feel improves the service so tend to be more motivated than the customers 95% of the time. Its a very different atmosphere to most working environments, luckily we are blessed with a very pleasent work force who are fully commited to the game and so to the site being a success. :D Respect to the CPC staff.
