Big up to Bully and the rest of the organisers for setting up this event. The fields were well set up with plenty of room for spectators to watch the games and the marshalling was superb. The teams in the divisions were well matched and the atmosphere was great. What was great that the good weather held out and I even managed to catch the sun. Wasn't it great to finish a day and not get bogged down on the way off the site.
I also want to thank Fatbobs paintball [Or fat guys as our Capatin fluffed his speech] for supplying us our Draxxus Blaze balls for the day. They flew as straight as an arrow and I didn't get a smeg all day. If anybody wants good quality paint then consider getting of him as it is delivered straight to the tourney and is of the highest quality, god knows how he stores it but I can't praise it enough.
And bloody hell what a goup of teams in our division, Hellfish well and truely spanked us on field 3 [I guess we should really learn to play a laydown field] and the team that surprised us the most were 'Team Ronin' we thought they were going to be a push over by listening to the other teams but my god they turned on the heat in the last game of the day. It really came close to the wire when our last remaining player decided that he was going to move up the field [Thank god we had been moaning at him all day] and managed to take out the last two of 'Ronin'. He was happy as punch because he got his first mugging and had only two balls left when we got back to the safe zone.[Thats how close it came]
I think that Player of the day should have really gone to the Imperial player who went on a mugging spree against K2. It was 4 on 2 when he started his run and it looked like K2 were going to walk away with it. Then up he pops and takes out the rest of the team much to the surprise to everybody watching. Imperial had a really good day all round with beating K2 and Nexus and winning thier division, much to the surprise of everybody who heard. We all thought the A division results were set down in stone before a ball was fired. Just goes to show what a fickle sport ours is.
I was going to have a go at Nexus but after watching the final I realised that this was unjustified. They work well as a team and not a gripe from them all day. Even when Bowen got pulled in the final much to the shouts from the spectators watching not to far away, not a gripe was heard. They really did deserve to win the day overall and showed all the teams watching what to aspire to.
Good luck In Vegas guys and bring home some silverware to show the 'Sceptics' that the Uk balling scene is improving by leaps and bounds.
Oh and on a final Note thanks to scutty and the guys at Fury sports for sorting out our team shirts in time for this event, when TNT managed to loose the first consignment the week before. There were loads of comments about them but we will be providing sunglasses to opposing teams at future events. As they are rather bright.
Keep safe all those who attended this great event and see you all at Wakefield where we hope the weather will be as nice.
P.s I still can't understand how the Keltic Warriors managed to all fit on that little table when we were sprawled over two. And watch out guys if the sportmanship award is going on distance travelled its ours next time guys as you only just piped us to the post this time [4 hours of travelling hellish norfolk roads I wouldn't wish that on anyone. The things we have to do to get a good game ]
