Yes, it was an outstanding event and has forced real progress on event promotion this side of the Atlantic and every serious player ought to be grateful. (That's for you, Pete and anyone who wasn't there)
But that in no way invalidates Mark's broader point of concern for ongoing process of rules enforcement or follow up comments from others of like opinion. Over here we've had plenty of lip service in the past and rules enforcement is a big deal, even menial rules, because otherwise you get the sort of chaos we've had until now.

Now one little thread on one forum, even this exalted forum isn't a significant distraction, more of a cautionary note for the future.
Should y'all wish to continue disagreeing feel free to do so on the merits alone.

Paul, I don't really care if you think Mark's point has a broader significance, in my opinion, it has no integrity at all, no matter what you think !!!
Mark is nit picking, pure and simple, and just because other pages highlight all the good points of HB doesn't mean it justifies Mark's inferred attack.
This mask incident was not a harbinger of things to come, it was an anomaly, you know that, I know that and I suggest you let Mark know that !!!

In defense of the "scrutineer" They checked my gun twice for bounce. That is the first time at any tournament I have seen anyone doing this. At least it appears that they are trying to do their job.

1--You're certainly entitled to that opinion and it's nowhere, no how my intention to try and change your mind. I do think you are being perhaps just a wee bit unfair in your characterization is all.
2--Yes, it is nit-picking but I didn't view it as an attack. It's not a condemnation of a whole event to point out mistakes.
3--I certainly believe it was an anomaly and I expect things to improve as time goes along but you (or actually, I) could make the case that any post-event analysis pointing out such details might even be helpful for future reference as there is some picking and choosing that must go on at the actual events.

And I too had my gun checked--very extensively.

And if there's any more hippy talk in this thread I'll delete it.
