Take it from me mate....after this tournament the 'bug' will have bitten!
I am from Jersey so I understand the cost and we are in the same 'boat' as you when it comes to local events, hell, we don't even have an Air-Ball field. We have a flat piece of land and oil-drums, just makes playing these events all the more wilder and fun. I don't think any team is viewed as 'target practice' and as 'sjt' says, anybody who laugh either at your kit or your playing are just muppets. We all have to attend our first big event sometime and I don't think you could have chosen a better one to start of with.
BTW, what part of N.Ireland you from mate? Belfast man meself.

co armagh. looking forward to seeing you there. we'll see where the wind takes us i suppose. if we do ok then good, if we don't then what the hell its only a game at the end of the day!!!!!
Dusty if you do drop in on the jags be warned dont bend over to pick anything up or you might gain an extra pod,seriously though besides all the extra festiveness it would be worth popping in to see the jags if you need any help or advice.

Sam is right, its your first big event and it will blow you away. Get there early on Thursday and walk your fields all day long, it will help you no end.
And as for sponsorship, all the major paint suppliers will be there, so take a stroll, talk to them and see if anyone will help you with a price on your paint, it all helps!

A Few Good Men
Will be playing div 2. We hope to keep on our improvment thru the year with a good showing at Campaign.
However as to the stepping up thing...... We as a team simply can't afford to pay for more paint, higher entry fee's etc. We only get sponsorship from one point (Bullswood Skirmish rules ) If however we perfrom well at campaign then we'll have to again look at stepping up.
Oh and at the start ofthe thread you mentioned the local tournaments thing (Dartford etc) Well results there mean jack as the fields at millenniums are sooooooo vastly different you might as well be playing a different game!

Hey dusty , last year i met a team from Malaysia with no tournament experiance and very little playing experiance. They had No kit when they arrived we loaned them our markers gave them game plans and supported them throughout the tournament. They had a brilliant time and are going to be in malaga . So jsut come have fun and meet lots of great people .
