Marshalling

Not sure which field the inexperienced guys were on. We were on field 3 (Sup Air) and are all quite experienced (I think we had 1 inexperienced marshall out of 6). We had some run ins so in the spirit of marshalling better, any comments?

Marshalling comments,

Comments on the marshalling such as "the ****y marshalling" is not productive. ANd just serve to make the marshalls feel annoyed, P****** off, after they have been working hard all day(in the majority of cases), If people have got a problem with marshalling, it is far better, to quantify what the problem with the marshalling was... that way marshalls can learn from their mistakes or at least know why someone was unhappy.

ok like i have stated the marshalling was in general up to the standard that the guys of MM have set themselves.

The only field that i saw any problems with was with field 2 (the barrels). There seemed to be a few judges afraid to get stuck in and quite prepared to watch it all from the side lines. They seemed to be a little lost, which i have put down to inexperiance.

i can post examples but i dont feel the need to i will discuss these with the MM guys if they want to, to see if they can find ways to improve the standards they have set themselves.
like i have stated in my previous post the inexperianced guys may be need to attend a few team training days and marshal those so they can see what goes on in a less stressful situration.

all in all i found the marshaling to be fine, most of the time its the teams playing that need to calm down a little

cheers

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't looking for a torrade of complaints online about the standard of marshalling as we heard it all on the day. I wanted to see if you felt that speech was justified or sour grapes in your experience, obviously, so far I'm getting an impression of the latter being true.

I was concerned that someone felt strongly enough to mention it during an acceptance speech which is unusual in my experience as disputes are usually forgotten 5 mins after the game. A lot of people have a go due to adrenalin, which is completely understandable (including me) but I thought the marshalls on fields 3 and 4 did an excellent job (the only ones I saw).

I think the marshall in that situation was just as confused as the player who found two of us behind that bunker, and the two Full-On players who were mugged!!

Silverjay, what comments were made?? I can't seem to remember anyone dissin' the marshalls in the awards giving thingy. There was a humorous piss taking one from someone I think, but I can't remember anything else....

put it this way
my respect for the team in question has gone down
there didn't seem many problems with our field but it still left a sour taste.

Ok not going to name and shame but I think we're all talking about the same game.
Amazing isn't it, players quoting from the rule book, shame that they seem to forget the dead men can't talk rule, if I was marshalling penalty points would've been coming out big time!!
