I kno dude you have been goin on not just in this thread about your thoughts on Pete, wot he should have or should have not done.

Then your sayin that he should do certain things (leave the commitee), talkin bout stress and emotional attachment to NeXuS.

As u said you don't kno him, so it aint really your place man is it?

i don't think its fair that since friday you have been slateing him (when he can t reply) on the boards, saying wot u think of him and wot he should do and that he was out of line and bla bla bla, when in real fact you have no idea wot happened did you!

where u there?? Did you see it all happen?? ......... Didnt think so

Robbo's a good guy dude, and so many people know this! so lay off the judgement cause your just making yourself look like an idiot

At the end of the day guys you were'nt there. Raehl doesnt need to fiercly defend his opinion, nor does Robbo have to stand up for his self. The proof is in that video footage.

I believe Robbo went on to the field after the game as a COACH, not as a representative of the rules committee. He went to speak to the head judge just like any team captain would do. Despite wether it was to do with the game, or how badly it might have been marshalled or even bad calls. He did not deserve the treatment given by rage players.

As for raehl slating Robbo, i dont believe he has. Raehl has given 'his own opinion', and in no way shape or form has slated him personally. Maybe slated the way he did things (abit prematurely i might add). After all, these forums were made to air free speech, and to give their own personal opinions. If he had slated robbo personally i would have thought he'd have a few warnings by now.

Once again props to Nexus to staying out of it, and well done. Shame about missing the finals :(

I still think he should be off the rules committee, especially if he's going to be coaching Nexus in NPPL next year. We need people on rules committees (and PSP needs a rules committee period) who can lay down the law with an iron fist, and that's tough to do fresh off an incident like this one.

Pete also opened a can of worms by putting the perception, justified or not, that Nexus gets different treatment on the field than other teams who don't have coaches on the Rules Committee (and before anyone takes issue with this, remember what your comments were on the separation of Chuck/Dynasty).

Additionally, it's apparent Pete is quite emotionally involved with his team, and it might save him quite a bit of stress if he doesn't have to be thinking about how his actions will look as a member of the Rules Committee when he's coaching (not that Pete needs me to manage his stress level by any means). Nexus has made some tremendous strides this year, both Nexus and NPPL are probably better off if Pete picks one or the other.

Hold on a sec geezers. C'mon nexus, Pete's not always right you know. Read the post again.

Chris, if you'd written this yesterday, with this tone, then who could have complained.

It was the triumph in your voice that angered most.

But as you've stated, it's not the rules committee's job to enforce the law...just create it. The refs will enforce it. Pete being a coach doesn't compromise his expertise in the game and rulemaking. And since the rules committee has nothing to do with enforcing the rules (as far as I know, the refs don't answer to the rules committee) his dual role is no conflict of interests.

I've also not seen anywhere other than here that anyone thought he got any different treatment from being on the rules committee. In fact, the proof says otherwise. Both Robbo and the Rage player got the same penalty. If they'd have been biased to Robbo, they'd have said he acted in self defense and only penalized the Rage player.

Heresy

Seriously though as a fairly independent observer it's interesting to see how many automatically rally to Robbo's defence, whilst others seem to assume the worst from him. If Paintball is really split into two camps it's not Rec and Tourney it's the Robbophiles Vs the Robbophobes

I hope we will all get a chance to see this video soon before the rampant speculation gets any more daft

Gotta love the paintball communities fascination with gossip though. Perhaps we need a 'ballers equivalent of Hello! Magazine* :p

*If you go ahead with the idea above Rancid I'm claiming intellectual property rights and borrowing a lawyer from Smart Parts ;)
