I'm bitching about the Rage penalty here. I'm not saying Pete is changing his report, I'm just saying that when stuff happens, you ask 5 different people who were standing right there what happened you'll often get 5 different stories. We're getting a second-hand version of Pete's version of events, and I'm betting Pete was probably pretty pissed off at the time, so what Pete thinks/feels like happened may not be the whole story, not through any fault of Pete. He's still just one set of eyes and ears, attached to somebody probably pretty pissed at Rage.
Regardless, I wasn't qualifying anything I was saying about Pete with that comment, I was qualifying my comment on the Rage penalty.
Point being, if Pete's version is pretty accurate, I'm pretty upset about the penalty (or lack thereof) given to Rage. Pete shouldn't have been on the field, but just like Pete should have sat his ass on the sideline and let the refs deal with it (even if they were dealing with it wrong), Rage should have sat their asses in the deadbox and let the refs deal with it (even if they were dealing with it wrong by letting Pete on the field in the first place.)
And yes, if it were just some idiot player who was on the sidelines and went on the field I wouldn't be making as a big deal out of what Pete did, but I hold Pete to a higher standard - and no, not because I have a vendetta against Pete, but because he's a much more visible player in an area of responsibility who should both know better AND be leading by example.
