I'm bitching about the Rage penalty here. I'm not saying Pete is changing his report, I'm just saying that when stuff happens, you ask 5 different people who were standing right there what happened you'll often get 5 different stories. We're getting a second-hand version of Pete's version of events, and I'm betting Pete was probably pretty pissed off at the time, so what Pete thinks/feels like happened may not be the whole story, not through any fault of Pete. He's still just one set of eyes and ears, attached to somebody probably pretty pissed at Rage. ;)

Regardless, I wasn't qualifying anything I was saying about Pete with that comment, I was qualifying my comment on the Rage penalty.

Point being, if Pete's version is pretty accurate, I'm pretty upset about the penalty (or lack thereof) given to Rage. Pete shouldn't have been on the field, but just like Pete should have sat his ass on the sideline and let the refs deal with it (even if they were dealing with it wrong), Rage should have sat their asses in the deadbox and let the refs deal with it (even if they were dealing with it wrong by letting Pete on the field in the first place.)

And yes, if it were just some idiot player who was on the sidelines and went on the field I wouldn't be making as a big deal out of what Pete did, but I hold Pete to a higher standard - and no, not because I have a vendetta against Pete, but because he's a much more visible player in an area of responsibility who should both know better AND be leading by example.

Oh, and one more time...

Props to Nexus for doing the right thing and letting the refs deal with it.

I still think he should be off the rules committee, especially if he's going to be coaching Nexus in NPPL next year. We need people on rules committees (and PSP needs a rules committee period) who can lay down the law with an iron fist, and that's tough to do fresh off an incident like this one.

Pete also opened a can of worms by putting the perception, justified or not, that Nexus gets different treatment on the field than other teams who don't have coaches on the Rules Committee (and before anyone takes issue with this, remember what your comments were on the separation of Chuck/Dynasty).

Additionally, it's apparent Pete is quite emotionally involved with his team, and it might save him quite a bit of stress if he doesn't have to be thinking about how his actions will look as a member of the Rules Committee when he's coaching (not that Pete needs me to manage his stress level by any means). Nexus has made some tremendous strides this year, both Nexus and NPPL are probably better off if Pete picks one or the other.

Look at it his way.

While what happened wasn't good, it wasn't as bad as it could have been - both in terms of someone getting seriously injured on the Rage front...

But on the Pete/Rules Committe front:

What if Pete had actually been successful getting the refs to change the call(s) and Nexus had been given the win for the game? Or Pete didn't really do anything on the field at all and the refs just sorted it out on their own and gave Nexus the game?

Now you have a game where it looks like Team A has won, someone from Team B who is on the league rules committee then goes on the field, and then Team B gets the win.

Which isn't good for the sport *OR* for Nexus.

I don't know Pete.

And neither Pete, NPPL or Nexus has the luxary of even a significant minority of the people viewing the situation knowing Pete.

edit....time delay:rolleyes:

ok well it looks to me like ur going on the war path against pete....although very covertly......

and if you dont know pete and what he does and how he does it then how....how can you pass judgement. And please dont say that your not and that ur putting across the veiw that ppl may take....because if that was ur intention you would not be fighting your corner so fiercly......we can all see how it looks but at the moment we are all still working on hearsay.

and whats all this about stress and it being easier for him to choose on thing or another......first the man himself is not here to defend himself.....nice....and second you seem to be attacking him personally.....sugesting he is weak and not up to it:mad:

dude....whats the deal....y?
