Reliving Nam inthe Uk

Reality detachment, happened to a friend of mine... started fantasy role playing... running around woods clocking each other with latex swords shouting "Hit point".

Dont speak to him any more... too freakish when they start to think they are the charactures and talk to you as if it is all real.

You know, "I was walking through the woods and this orc jumped out at me, any way I cut him down no problems... me and Big bertha. Another pint?"

What about the people who so want to be American WWII majors they start to adopt American accents in normal life. Strewth... knew one of them as well... dont speak to him any more... too freakish.

Hmmm, do you think it is just me... leave the poor slug alone and think of that japanese delicacy of "Crunchy raw sea slugs".

Mark, Skaffen, we've got to get together. I've gone all dreamy eyed. Let's meet and have a pint, but, and I mean this, you've got to turn up in the camo of your team from '89. Mine's Austrian?

For the rest of you monkey-boys, leave the airsofter and the re-enacters alone. If it wasn't for them there'd be no such thing as pgi. Ok, ok, who said 'pity'?
Oh dear we would have to choose the pub very carefully then :D '89 mmmm would have been either a missmatch of Dutch trousers and a german shirt ala "student apparel" or dark tiger stripe...its in a cupboard somewhere, I know the trousers are all holed on the knees  and the M65 jacket has a rip down one side....so perhaps a Bikers Pub?

I played live action role play for exactly 85 minutes (they timed it) fastest they'd ever had to ask anyone to leave........ threw one player into a huge bramble and left him there, then came back to "camp" with a Jack Russel I'd "tracked".

Same thing happened at a star-trek roleplay thing I got dragged to.......... said I wasn't taking it seriously. (spent the whole night making whush-whush noises every time someone opened a door).

Are you sure about the people in the uniforms? Surely it was Terry Martin, Del Wildermuth and Rob Rubery?...or maybe a younger Robbo...Oh no that was just a vietnam team name ;)
I think you will find that 'Nam' as in 'Nam Wrecking Crew' refers to Dagenham, but then again I could be wrong.

There was also a Barnet Wrecking Crew!:)

'89 is a bit too old school for me, although I do have a nice matching brownleaf realtree ensemble from '92 if that'll count towards getting a babycham? ;)

I have hazy recollections of buying some guns 'n' survival mag which had PGI as a freebie pullout?

Showing my ignorance here - Rancid would I be right in thinking you're Matt, or have I got it completely wrong?

Steve - I'm sure I saw Del Wildermuth a couple of months ago, he's spent the last 10 years crawling into an awesome spot on field 1 at Holmbush. ;)

Perhaps so but then the logos etc they used were very much NOT Dagenham.

I have a Barnet Wrecking Crew patch tucked away somewhere...as back in the day some of us sad buggers wore MA1 jackets covered in patches
