Ahhh that's what they mean when they say "Popping Smoke",Originally posted by Buddha 3
Purple smoke is generally used to point out positions you want shot to bits with artillery. Or strafed by aircraft. Sort of like a "look, shoot here, you nearsighted SOB" sort of thing.
I didnt see it but I have read an article in a mens magazine before about them, they are British for gods sake!Originally posted by Roland
Did anyone see those sad gits on tv last night pretending to be Nam vets in some woods in Surrey?
Yes they had VC (brits again) but I think they wouldn't let them camp with the 'Yanks'Originally posted by Leper
I saw it briefly, about the bit when some guy was lecturing another about how he was using british hand signals instead of american. Turned off after that, but I wish I'd seen this helicopter!
Anyone who saw it all: Did they have anyone take the role of the VC, or were they fighting against imaginary soldiers?
That must account for the all the instances of 'Friendly Fire' because they were wafting the purple smoke around the helicopter that they had just loaded their wounded intoOriginally posted by Buddha 3

There are thousands of Brits who re-enact The American Civil War!Originally posted by mikeyR

So why re-enact an American war that we had no involvement with!
Next they'll be rebuilding the Alamo to fight "imaginery" Mexicans!
Re-enactors that do very historical and even educational battles like the Sealed Knot (English Civil War) do have a place but this bunch are extreme fantasists who have problem.
"GET A LIFE!" comes to mind!
