HA!
Of course I am Bias, sheesh man!
But mostly I have heard "The E-blade is so much better, it is from Eclipse and has an Eye and is only (insert shifting price here) and is so Blah blah blah"
But there is a Difference. And by talking with people who HAVE played with it, and just by looking at it, I know the difference.
Racegun could have made a similar grip for about the same price. But they wanted a person to be able to use the their old .45 grip covers, and other things. Like the Roller Sear. It is alot more Energy effecient, and smaller and harder to design and produce, than the Spyder type of sear release. And tough. 2 million cycles.
Also, instead of having a 9v battery they went with an NiMH, battery charger, designed for a couple different currents, an external charging port/data port, plus a couple other things.
Just switching back to a 9v drops over $100 off the price. Making the software interface with a PC or Palm costs also.
If it was a simpler grip, and lower tech, like the rest out there, the price could have been lower. But it isn't. And those designed in features cost a bit more.
Look at a Centerflag grip. It used a unique sized grip frame, a plastic cover, a single rotary solenoid that mechanical activated the old 3-way on the gun, and used a 9v. It was about the same price. If they had added a NiMH battery, a second Solenoid up front, how much would the cost have been?
So I don't think the E-blade is better. It is good kit, and nicely packaged. And looks to be well made. I am not dissing that.
I was merely trying to say- There is a difference. And a reason for that price. There normally is.
I could get a M3 grip, do a bit of soldering, and add a 5-way to it. There ya go! E-grip for the Cocker: $200.
