Question to the Workshy on the board

I would also be interested about what all you current
uni types have to say on this as Im off to Durham in October.

Previously hadn't thought twice about taking all my kit with
me but mike does raise a few good points and now has me
wondering what to do.
Durham Uni used to have quite a thriving paintball fraternity and team for a while which I was privaleged to have close links with and as far as I'm aware non of the guys (or indeed girls ;) ) had a problem with keeping their equipment with them.

However I'd certainly recommend seperate insurance for your kit...if you can find a company to insure it.

After 5 years of Uni, I'm regretting it. Wish I'd become a plumber at 16 and had no debts....:(

...Mike- sell your kit. Take the cash now or pawn it for White Lightning in a few years time...;)

Cool, Padawan paid for me to go to Uni, I know where to forward on my 15K worth of loan debts to - and all for a pint, marvellous :D

But seriously - when living in halls, get insurance. I'm 99.9% positive that Endsleigh let you name items up to a certain value. The other thing worth checking out is what was the case with me (and most of my mates).
Whilst a student/in student accomadation, I was covered on my parents contents insurance. The only caveat being that if I lost all my stuff, and claimed, for example, £5K, and my folks were burgled same week, they could only claim what they were covered for, minus the £5K worth of my stuff (which was obviously elsewhere at the time).

As your parents probably have better insurance that the student cover that endsleigh provide, you can probably add your gat to that.

(Tho they may require you to have a lock on your individual door if in a house).

Incidentally, if you're in halls with a courtyard type bit, and some tw@ is anoying you by firing bb's from his pappy airsoft gun at your window, ripping a string of dry firing at him soon shuts him up. ;)

I have spent two years in uni halls with no issue. Just keep your kit in it's bag, no-one is going to search you. Just don't be stupid and run around halls with it as some people have been known to do..................

Cheapest way to get your gun insured is to have it on your parents household policy (check with their policy) and have it insured for being taken out of the house (I know my parents policy covers my stuff wherever i am and i've managed to clain for things before).

Ensleigh is a massive rip off and often finds an excuse not to pay out anyways.
