Maybe this should be in SYB but as it's most relevant to tournaments i've put it here... (edit: oh, it's been moved!)
Tournament rules are quite specific about what can/can't be worn in the way of padding. They usually go along the lines of knee pads, elbow pads, throat protection, groin protection for the guys and chest protection for the ladies. However, there are no guidelines or allowances for 'baby-bump protection' in the case of pregnant female ballers!
Obviously no sport-specific protection is made for this area so it would need to be a home-made jobby... so what would be deemed 'acceptable' protection in this instance? Rock-solid hard protection would hinder movement and would need to be replaced as the bump grew, so i'm thinking it would need to be flexible...maybe neoprene? Would the guys think this is an unfair advantage? Would field ultimates disallow it? Although tbh how many players do we eliminate with a shot to the belly anyway??
And before we get the expected male comments along the lines of 'pregnant females shouldn't be be playing paintball' let me add that according to medical guidelines it's fine to continue playing a sport that you are used to playing, during pregnancy'.
