"callin' y'all out"... what a wonderful Americanism. Allow me to run with it for a second :)

....................................................................

GunfighterX rode into a new town and, like he'd done a thousand times before, hitched up his horse in front of the local saloon and walked in

Striding up to the bar he ordered a whiskey and began telling everybody about the properties of six-shooters and how Colts were not really any better than Remingtons

A voice from the back of the saloon commented that there was a bit more to it than that

GunfighterX spun around pulling his revolver as he span and loudly announced that he was the fastest gun in the west and anybody who didn't agree was a damn fool or a greenhorn

The crowd parted and GunfighterX found himself looking at a group of men playing poker round a card-table. Each of them already had a pistol aimed at GunfighterX's heart

Cause this town was Tombstone and X had just met Wyatt Earp and his brothers... :p

....................................................................

Sorry guys. Couldn't resist posting this. I hope it's as funny as I think it is :D

BTW Doc "Beaker" Holiday was the one winning at the Poker table ;)

One last thing before I go: yes, I did do tests for all of the points I made, and I'll go into greater detail later. Also, why should you believe me? I've been playing for longer than some of you have had pubic hair, I went through every phase in the book (i.e. sniper and the like) so I know where the people who get something out of this are coming from, and above all, I have the research and tests to back it up. So, until YOU do the same, I think it's only fair that you keep your mouth(s) shut about things you have no conclusive proof about.
that made some of the guys take things personally.

Basically, he's said that they are all juvenile losers - well I know I'd take that personally as well!

As Mark suggests, maybe if he'd taken a bit more time taking notice of other posts on these forums he wouldn't have made this assumption - though I would have thought Hotpoint's sig with Technical Advisor of the UKPSF would have been just a bit of a clue that some people here know just a teensy weensy bit about the sport

All the people who posted early on in this thread have played for many, many years and have been posting good, sound technical advice here for a long time; then this new guy comes along & implies that they are teenaged know-nothings. I know Manike can get a bit heated at times (usually when arguing with Robbo!)but people like Mark, Beaker & Hotpoint don't tend to get hot under the collar for no reason. They all gave knowledgable feedback on the original post & this guy flames them!

Baca,

We treated him with courtesy (at least to begin with) - that's the key thing, but when your first post is the "Definitive Guide To Paintball something" and you invite comments, then react to those reasoned comments in the way he did, we ain't the ones in the wrong.

If we had jumped on him for the first post - granted that would be unreasonable - but we didn't, only for his reaction to those comments.

As has been said - we welcome reasoned debate - even yours sometimes :) - and so I do hope that he will temper the attitude and post again to carry on the discussion.

and HP - funny :D

Well no one was being in any way offensive towards him, he could of replied intelligently and backed up what he'd wrote and had a discussion. Instead he decided to come out with the kind of stuff that annoys the crap out of people with an air of self importance.

Unfortunately the jumping into unfamiliar waters arguement doesn't wash, why did he have to jump in feet first, its free to browse! Why should slack be cut, I thought the tougher moderation was to stop the kind of stuff which was in the 2nd post i.e.
Also, why should you believe me? I've been playing for longer than some of you have had pubic hair
Well anyway i'm off bed. . . oh just for the record my thoughts on the topic . . theres soooo many variables to what makes a marker accurate, barrel, paint, valves, regulation. . . .etc. If the variables were consistantly the same then there would be no variations and all markers would be equal .. . unfortunately there not!

Amen to that, what if he'd shown up at a tournament with that attitude, we can do without it.

Nope, just sarcasm, that's ours. Hopefully it'll be in the next olympics, you won't stand a chance.

At least we'll get one medal.
'Till the Olympics after that when the Australians catch on.

Thanks "Doc" I was beginning to think my attempted humour had fallen flat and it was a "tumbleweed" moment in Tombstone :p

And who thinks I've seen way too many Westerns? :D ;)
