Ascutt,
I hardly think the rantings of a few people constitute a need for a UK magazine, however the UKPSF does have a monthly magazine of sorts and it sounds as though this could be exactly what some of you want.
Get in touch with Steve Bull, join up and Hey Presto !, you can read everytihng and everthing there is to read concerning the UK scene.
But bringing out a UK supplement as an economic excercise would be an unmitigated disaster.
After all, what advertiser (And here we are obviously only talking UK companies) would want to commit their monies to a publication attracting at most 300 readers.
And if you doubt that number, then be reassured, it is not too far off the mark believe me !!!

As much as I to would love to read about tourmies I have taken part in I fully understand the points made by Robbo and co, However(come on, you knew it was coming :D) the tournies that do happen in the uk that 'we'd' like to see coverage of aren't really the 5 man in Bognar Regis, its stuff like Bully's series which is really the 'only' league that we have, maybe if there was more UK coverage more people may get into the sport in the UK, thus allowing us to have bigger events, etc etc.... then again maybe not?!!?!

Maybe if people attending the UK tournies sent them into PGI they may get published?!?!?!?

Just an idea....

One thing that TJ posted I couldn't agree with more,

"...pballers are real good at moaning but not so good at getting off their fat ass and actually doing something"

Paul.

Just my opinion but I actually prefer to read about tourneys that I wasn't at (World Cup, NPPL etc) cos if I was there, I know what happened already. PGI rocks, its a simple as that. It covers a broad range of paintball activities so there's something for everyone in there. The gear reviews are unbiased and the whole mag is written in a pretty lighthearted way... its just the best paintball mag there is.

Sheesh, s'more than that at the local high school...

TJ, no u misunderstand me, which ain't hard, you being a yank and all that :)
Anyway, what I am saying is that only 300 people would bother to buy a mag restricting its coverage to just the UK tourney scene.
The vast majority of the UK's thousands of paintballers would much rather live in the real world and want to see what is going on internationally and with all the best teams.
The vast majority of serious paintballers in the UK, whether rec or pro, want to find out as much as they can about our sport and PGI, I hope, satisfies those thousands.
The handful of players who are interested in purely UK based tourneys can of course set up their own magazine :)

the only response possible...

Firstly Rancid, thanks for the history lesson, but I have been playing tournament paintball on the UK scene for over 10 years (yes, I know, I should be better!) and remeber both mags, they were excellent at the time and I was gutted when they went under
Robbo - it was just a suggestion; you know, a sharing of thoughts. At no point did I offer anything but positive comment on a mag I eagily (spelling?) look forward to each month. The team at PGI should be proud of their work.
TJ - size isn't everything, its lots of things but it ain't everything!

As a humble newbie to the sport I would like to say that between P8ntballer.com and PGI I have learned a hell of a lot about paintball. So keep up the good work. The only thing PGI doesnt have enough of is nekked girls in it. If it did then could save a fortune on buying Razzle and save a lot of embarrasment when buying it.:D
