Please wear a red rose. I will wear a white one. I will be the extremely large black lady wearing all the gold, in the leopard-print bikini top and elasticated waist pants. How personal did you have in mind hunny?
Forget the rose, i`m so fat you want miss me

And about the "bringing ringers" thing:
I have no problem with teams having one player for the season (ex. M.Nielsen/Syndicate) or maybe even 2 players. Even if that is 40% of your team onfield!
But when teams start to bring in 3 and 4 top players (what`s next, 5?) for the 5man lineup, then it`s riddicolous.
And most of the teams that do it, are the same teams struggling to earn a spot in CPL last year...

Lets take the teams we have in our preliminaires in Paris this weekend, and see which american players they have in their rooster:
Consililium Dei
Paul Alders
Michael Venezia
Josh Nevius
JT Bouchard
Syndicate
(Markus Nielsen)
Chris Lasoya
Tyler Humphrey
Danny Tijack
Powertrip
Spesh Robinson
Ryan Moorhead
Todd Hugo
Tom Van Egtern

:D :D So we are basically just playing american teams, haha. Looking forward to it, but it f***s up the ranking system. And it just shows that this years rooster system does not work

Players with crap last names should not be allowed in the upper divisions. It's starting to get ridiculous...

FYI. Nevious rhymes with Devious. Keep your eye on that one!

I have done the work now, and can see that the MS does NOT use the "snake" for making the draw - at least not all the way through.

It seems tje policy of the MS is, that if you do poorly, of don't play well, in the first event of the season, you will continue to get fcuked over throughout the season.

I am wondering why the draw is done that way, and what the logic is - when everyone was happy with the snake system used previous years?

Irritates me to no end that I only found out now, instead of at the start of the season, as the leaderboard might have looked completely different...

:(

Yes,

This is bull$hit we started the team at the start of the season & got ranked last, so becouse we are new we have much much harder draws:mad: :(   This is so unfair & i am very glad you told me this i am tired today but i will be on the phone first thing Tuesday morning.

They do it like tht so the top teams have an easier route to though so that all the best teams play each other in the quarters/semi's and finals...
Otherwise you'd have a few good team's going throu, and then a few ****ty teams who did well cos they were in a group of ****ty teams...

People may not like it, but it makes sence...

Well - the way it is done currently makes sense, from a purely mathematical standpoint.... but any system could do that - even if it called for the no. 1 seed to play only the bottom seed - 8 times - in the prelims ;)

Both Laurent and Barry talked to me on this, both were surprised to find that the "snake" system was not used for making the draw. - Both agreed the current system is unfair, and both said they would work for getting it changed.

- Apparently the current system is the same used in the NPPL... and it makes me wonder why nobody in the US has raised the issue before now.

For the MS, the question now only seems to be if it will be changed for Campaign, or for next year.... unless ofcourse the board members I did not talk to see things differently.

Time will tell.

I know the MS board is supposed to talk on this issue in August, and I suppose we will all be told what they decide after that.

That is absolutely incorrect.

Using the snake system would see all the top teams in groups with intermediate and bottom seeds.

If they were worthy of their seed, they would make it through to the finals without any problems.

There would be no groups with only "****ty" teams as you choose to call it - nor groups with only good teams (in terms of seeding).

Let me put this another way.

This season, DG Icon, Enemy, Kellys - and other top 10 teams, have YET to play a single top 20 team in the prelims (no - that did not say "top 10" - it actually DID say "top 20"!!!).

Teams that were new to the MS at the start of the season, like for instance the Steelers, have so far played approximately 20 top 10 teams in the prelims (yes, "top TEN").

Now, if anyone thinks that is fair, I am quite prepared to have them declared clinically insane. :)

You people have to remember that this is not tennis, where you play head to head and knock your opponent out of the event. - Paintball events are structured entirely differently, which is why the current system makes no sense and is inherintly unfair.

When (for instance) 40 teams are playing 8 games each in the preliminary stage, and all compete with everyone in the division for 16 qualifying spots - it is absolutely essential that all teams have an equal opportunity to qualify.

IF we played knockout games from the get go, the current system would be perfect.... problem just is we do not ;)
